Wanna__Bee_ Free, I did read your post and wanted to reply, but sometimes it’s difficult to know how to respond in a meaningful way without sounding, I don’t know, patronising or dismissive of concerns.All I can really urge is for you not to get disheartened, you are doing great even if it may not feel like that, each day without alcohol is in itself a small - but significant - win. Alcohol can be very insidious. I sometimes think it speaks with its own voice. I can imagine that voice saying, “you’ve hardly had any days without a drink this month, not much point in holding out any further, might as well just open another bottle”. I mean, if alcohol could speak, that would be how it would sound. (That’s possibly an odd way to put it, but that’s how I have to think of it anyway.) Each day we don’t listen to that weasly little voice is definitely worth it, so please, don’t be discouraged and do keep posting on here.6

4/25 for me today please. I was supposed to lead a small group discussion this morning, with the prep already done and printed. I was delighted when the only person who turned up asked if I minded if we postponed - I was feeling absolutely drained, but didn't want to let anyone down... so I *graciously* (gratefully) agreed to the postponement.
@Wanna_Bee_Free
Oops, I misread your numbers - but I'm glad it made you feel motivated, lol.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?5 -
Hi everyone.
Sorry, I have been AWOL for a while.
Anyway, I managed 19/25 days in November, and would like to aim for 25 in December please, Cathybird.
Today I am on 2 AF days so far this month.
Thank you!4 -
Season_of_Mist thanks for your post, I knjow what you mean about the voice(s). And I often feel like I have two fighting voices one on each shoulder... Also I know the problem with thinking I was doing well and then the insidious voice from alcohol telling me I had it sorted and could relax again... It is a weasly little voice. I also know what you mean about trying to find the right words, sometimes it all seems to come out in cliches for me. Luckily this week the good voices have made some progress.Season_of_Mist said:Wanna__Bee_ Free, I did read your post and wanted to reply, but sometimes it’s difficult to know how to respond in a meaningful way without sounding, I don’t know, patronising or dismissive of concerns.All I can really urge is for you not to get disheartened, you are doing great even if it may not feel like that, each day without alcohol is in itself a small - but significant - win.
