Blue badge Application Online, How long did yours take to come ?

Times vary greatly ,even within authorities. It took 12 weeks to the day for my son to renew his stepson's , using internet, PIP being involved. Mine is not automatic, as I only have AA, but almost three years ago, using internet, took about two days to get an email, saying they required more evidence and inviting me to call. I explained that I had little paperwork, as hospitals were not sending any out, because covid was still a problem and they suggested a list of ailments, tests, protocols etc, which GPs will provide. My husband collected a copy, posted it in the Council's letterbox and was able to collect the badge the next day. Different again, applying for the first time ,by post and having only AA ,a neighbour who has terminal cancer, had to wait about 12 weeks, then called the department, but still had a week or so before being able to collect.0

Spoonie_Turtle said:Mine have been renewals but my original application was reasonably quick too. I can't remember how long exactly, in the order of a few weeks I think, but I do recall being surprised when they contacted me to say I'd been approved and to ask for payment because it was relatively quick and I didn't automatically qualify at that time.
Did they check and process your application with in them few weeks and then they contaced you for payment for you to pay?
ours on the online application asked for the payment actually on the application process, after declaration.
online blue badge application - where you enter your name, address, submit online proof of address, proof of id etc, then towards the end of the online application it asks for payment where you enter your 16 card number and pay £10 then and there.
did you not do that? but after weeks they contacted you to ask for payment?

It's since changed that you end up going via gov.uk, but they still e-mail me to ask for payment via their online payment portal once the application has been approved. I can't remember if the application form asked for payment details but if it did, my council didn't use the information.
For the bus pass I paid during the application and they took payment using those details. (Same council, of course.)0
