Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Gers
Haven't been outside yet, but it looks bright, dare I say sunny. I should imagine it's still cold so I'll wrap up warm and have a walk.
Other than that I think I'll get on with my knitting.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Morning All
Had a lovely lunch for DD birthday yesterday came home and didn't do very much for the rest of the day. Couldn't get to sleep until gone 2.30 this morning loads of things running round my head.
DD would like to go out today and I have suggested she has a day with her Ddad whilst DGC are still away. We will see what she decides later!!
I need to set up my new spreadsheet for the next 6 months and look at my new budgets, also would like to do an inventory of all the food stuffs.
Thinking of all the sad and poorlies and those with weather warnings, take care keep warm and stay safe.
Hugs to all who want them

Morning all. Dry but dull here.
Looking forward to going down to London today - I keep on thinking of reasons to go earlier! My latest is we unpacked a new JL duvet cover yesterday only to find it's the correct size and design but has some sort of satin like finish on it, unlike our current ones, which are nice soft cotton. We'd prefer the original finish so will take a look in the Oxford St store to see if they are still available.
DH also opened one of his Christmas presents yesterday, which was a large tin of Fortnum & Mason chocolate ginger biscuits. After eating one he declared them to be the Best Biscuits Ever!! I then looked them up online and was absolutely astounded by the price..............
@Gers I've got some of those microwave veg bags and find them extremely useful. It means I'm more likely to cook a bit of veg without the fuss of washing up a saucepan.
Have a good day everyone. Hugs to the poodles.11 -
Morning all from wet Mehefinland
Well the light fittings all got changed yesterday afternoon with my friend doing the work and me standing around as apprentice, gopher, etc. Standing on a step ladder gave a completely different view of the rooms. I was ashamed to see so many cobwebs and piles of dust which I had never noticed from down below. A major spring clean on the cards after the festive period is out of the way ( nearly said done and dusted). Haven't got used to how instant and bright the new lights are yet. Dismantled the old chandelier type fittings this morning - my gosh - the dust!!! The amount of work which must have gone into them was phenomenal but they just looked tatty. We inherited them with the house nearly 30 years ago, and I never actually liked them but you know how it is - Dawn did, and that was that!
Had a major row with DS last night as they had taken umbrage at my sarky comment about 'family' Christmas on their FB page. A few home truths went winging their way. I had expected some empathy not to have my nose rubbed in it. Interestingly afterwards I noted that the offending pictures and comments have been removed. Perhaps it was what was needed. Consequently I slept terribly last night, going over things as you do. He will be 31 on NYE!
Sorry to vent on here- just need to get it off my chest and move on. Relations eh!
Hope all of you under weather warnings stay safe.
Hugs and spoons as always - especially the poodles

Hi everyone,
Scarlet, I was so pleased to hear your news. When the NHS gets it right it can't be beaten, it's such a pity we only hear the bad on the news and not the good.
It will be six years next month since Steve started his chemo, it's hard to believe it was that long ago.
We came up to Yorkshire yesterday, I slept a lot of the way, then slept on the sofa then slept all night, I don't know what was wrong with me .
Steve's sister is coming up to join us and we are going to the NYE celebrations at a lovely local country house hotel. I'm really looking forward to it.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Good idea to stay put today given the weather is so awful.I’ve woken with a nauseating headache so have taken some pain relief with my breakfast cereal. We are food shopping later. One good thing about entertaining over Christmas has shown us that the box of glassware, currently in the garage, is no longer needed.
Sorry about your DS @mehefin - not nice to fall out but he needed telling. I'm glad you have good friends around you for support x
Have a good day all.

Morning everyone it’s windy here but dry for the moment but it’s meant to get worse as the week goes on I’ve been out and got some fresh stuff I needed but the purse will be staying firmly shut until new year . Im going to put a pan of stew on it will do for tomorrow and probably the day after I don’t mind eating the same things for a couple of days and hopefully I will get some money saved this year AA I love my notebooks and lists I’m determined to have a very frugal year this year . Mehefin sometimes you have to say something you have to vent it’s shocking that some people think it’s alright to treat people badly one of my sons hasn’t acknowledged me for two years I send him messages and he just ignores them but at Xmas after I sent him a message he sent me a video of his cat I know odd but at least I know he’s still alive and the least said about one of my daughter in laws the better she decided the day we were taking the presents the children were to ILL to be seen then put pictures on Facebook of all there Xmas day actually I wasn’t taking the presents hubby was I gave up standing on my hands and clapping my feet to please her years ago she isn’t worth getting upset about families who would have them . stay safe and warm everyone and hopefully these winds don’t do to much damage. Thinking of all the poodles I love that it did make me laugh hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

We're walking in the air...
we're floating in
the moonlit sky...
the people far below
are sleeping as we fly...
I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in
the midnight blue...
I'm finding I can fly
so high above with you...

Morning! Weather no too bad so far but dire warnings abound. So I did shred the holly tree bits yesterday then I decided it might as wel all come down and shred the pom pom bits at the top too, so I did, OH is now calling me LumberJill...I did use power tools though so not much effort involved. Managed to see the neighbour to give him his cake, and we had another roast for suppoer [ still beef left but I might slice and freeze that]. I di want to go out for tuna for the cats, bread, cotton wool pads, cat food and something else I've forgotten...And we're off out tonight for a friends birthday, fingers crossed not too much of a hangover tomorow. I'd say I was getting too old for this kind of thing but OHs mum is 75 and still partying like a good 'un...
Mehefin, don't worry, just do as Izzy suggested for the dust
Gers, good luck with the wild and wooly weather and anyone else in the path of it.. My sister and the OH love Taskmaster too..Suffolksue, phone again if you don't, there may be other stuff to take..Take care all the poodle and poodle adjacent people! Enjoy the potential party if not...

Morning all
Dry here but feels a lot cooler, I need to go shopping today to tide us over till next week shouldn’t need too much, dd is off so will come with me.
DD was driving home from work the evening before last and was involved in a road rage incident she was driving 30 due to the speed limit and a car came racing up behind her and got so close she couldn’t even see his lights, she dropped down to 26 to allow him to pass and he roared past her around some bollards and then slammed his brakes on in front of her, he did this three times and the last time she nudged the back of his car no damage to either car, then he stopped on the road walked back to her car and shouted ‘ you crashed into my car’ then proceeded to completely smash her wing mirror with his fist 😡 he drove off and she got out and picked up what she could and then phoned me, I told her to send me her location and to get home safely, she called the police when she got in and they will do what they can, it was a very young bloke and dd thinks he was on drugs, the car is registered to an elderly man so either he pinched it or has bought it and the dvla have not done the transfer yet, poor dd was very shaken up why are some people like this ???Scarlett I was very pleased to hear your good news I hope the treatment can be done quickly xx
Mehefin sorry you had cross words but I think it needed to be said xx
Hugs to everyone estranged from family xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10
