Monday is another overcast dark day with a high of 14°C, low 10°C & a chilly wind is making it feel 5° colder 🥶 Another day of doing sweet f.n.y ad..s 😬 although as DH made soup I did sort out ingredients. Dinner was sliced beef in gravy, mash & green beans. Wudupa
2003 - 2005 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, drinks cans - recycled
2006 Kitchen detritus binned
charlies_tribe, pleased to hear that you are doing OK after all your medical tests 😊 Although very sorry to hear about your young relative 😢 Condolences to you & your family. Fingers crossed that you get a quick dental appointment so that you don’t have too much time to worry & that it is also as pain free as possible🤞 Excellent decluttering & great work in all the bedrooms especially in DS2’s room 👏 Good luck with any listings 🍀
Excellent work with the knitting surprisinglynice 👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way re the snowmen 😊 Good luck sorting your Christmas cupboard 🍀
Soontobeoap, hope you have a lovely weekend “granddaughter sitting” 🥹 I have revisited my records & discovered that I owe you a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊
suzeesu2000, reading This “Many years ago, we did a swap with a lady. I scrubbed everything to within an inch of its life, I used to be VERY particular. When we got to her place my heart sank, it was filthy. I was so worried she would not think my place was clean enough!” made me feel a bit 🤢 What a lovely friend 🥹 fingers crossed it all works & you have many sales 🤞
TC77, sorry to hear that DD2 is feeling homesick & that DD1 is still trying to find a job 😔 DD1’s tutor doesn’t appear to have had her finger on the pulse at all 😞 This “Decided to go through some paperwork in a wire basket..noticed half way through it was alp soggy! Realised little cat must have used it when I left it on the floor and I just added papers!
so out more paper including a note book and plastic wallets..” 🤢 Hopefully there was nothing important 🤞Good luck with any other listings 🍀oceanspirit, sounds like the untidiness will soon be sorted 😊
SpikyHedgehog, This “ saw when the duvet was on the washing line that the filling has gone into clumps. So when it comes off the bed again, it can leave the house. I'll replace it with another lightweight duvet and sew chunky snaps on the corners of both duvets so I can put them together.” is a brilliant idea 👏🤩 Fingers crossed that the ‘Not Known at This Address’ works 🤞
Moorviews, we are lucky enough to have an NHS dentist who does private work even if the practice is the other side of London from where we live 😉 Excellent work processing both apples & dried beans 👏
Just noticed the time so will post & go to bed. I will try harder to catch up with the cheerleading 🤞 Sleep tight 😴

Thank you kind people for your good wishes.
I just don't seem to have enough hours in a day. I am sleeping well though! I didn't get all my jobs done yesterday. However I did spray the ovens with cleaner, twice and washed them down twice. Plus scrubbed the grill pan and shelves which had been soaking in one of those cleaning bags since Saturday. The grill pan has gone back in a for a few days. That took hours. They will need doing again when I buy more cleaning stuff. The oven looks relatively new but has obviously never been cleaned in it's life.It would be wasteful to buy a new one. I will get rid when we have a new kitchen eventually. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen but I can't bring myself to use it. I am not a clean freak but the level of filth is like something off those extreme hoarding programmes on TV.
Mr V collected a new mattress for the spare room yesterday. It is still in the hall. Was given the divan so saved a few pennies by doing that.
The towns bin days have all changed. We brought our small bins with us and swapped them for this houses big bins. The recycling is collected on Friday. As well as a full bin we have a black bag full in the kitchen already. We will have to distribute it to neighbours bins under the cover of darkness when they put them out!
Today's intentions. Some hoovering, tat on the kitchen worktop, scrub cooker knobs which have been soaking over night, Put the feet on the double bed divan, wrangle the very heavy mattress upstairs, make up the bed, probably lots more stuff too. Ah yes strip and wash our bedding.
I will go to craft club later whilst Mr V goes food shopping. He is also picking up the clock that I bought from a charity shop. It has had a clean and service. Also collecting a toy I have ordered for DGS 1 for Christmas. I like to get done early, I hate shopping and even more so in crowds. Mr V loves shopping, I would say it is his main hobby.
Sorry for the ramble, it helps me organise myself when there is so much to be done it is overwhelming.
Vx

Morning all. Quick post as going out with DGD2. New bed delivered - they thought they were missing a box but found it in van with damaged barcode label but my address visible. Hope DS2 can come and put it together. Sox assisted delivery men by running between their legs as they carried packages in. I moved stuff from hall to give them space so will vacuum round before I put things back. Went swimming yesterday.
1001 Several bills paid
1002 Emails read, answered, stored or binned
1003 Bed delivery happened and on time
1004 Carpenter came and took something off bottom of bedroom door so it opens easily with new carpet
1005 Carpenter also finished off kitchen door frame which needed some extra wood fitted
1006 Sent DD back with large bag of tomatoes from greenhouse
1007 Written first 6 birthdays cards for November - there are still another 4 - will post some when I go out

Hello, just back from U3A coffee morning, and a lovely lady gave me a bag of cooking apples which will be turned into crumbles and pies, and turnovers and frozen
she said she had so many from her fruit trees she didn't want them to go to waste and they certainly wont be wasted in our house
her decluttering is a great one, as my DD adores apple crumble and custard for pudding and if I make some flaky pastry turnovers and freeze them the boys will soon scoff them when they come down at Christmas
once defrosted and cooked I will split once cold and top up with fresh cream
nice coffee morning as well,Lots of interesting folk there, Knit and Natter tomorrow morning ,busy week this week no free day until Friday

I wish I had some apples.... I love apple crisp rather than crumble. Basically the same except you have a flapjack type topping made with oats, butter and brown sugar. The other thing I used to make was apple chutney, chunks of apple cooked up with some onions, vinegar, sugar and spice. I never figured out how to can things so have just made this one jar at a time and kept in the fridge.London_1 said:Hello, just back from U3A coffee morning, and a lovely lady gave me a bag of cooking apples which will be turned into crumbles and pies, and turnovers and frozen

Tuesday - dark & overcast with a high of 15°C, low 11°C but feeling 5° chillier due to the breeze 🥶 My decluttering mojo as well as my cheerleading mojo seems to have gone into hibernation 😞 DH has fed the worms & filled the bird feeders& is currently in the garage zizzing up some food for the worms. I will try to do some cheerleading now 😉
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 You are certainly keeping busy & at the rate you are going you will be fully settled in before too long 😊 Although quite annoyed on your behalf that the previous owner left everything so dirty 😖 Please remember to visit the TLC Carriage regularly 🙏 What a relief that the cats came back safe & sound after their first stroll around their new neighbourhood 😮💨 Hopefully the seller’s solicitor will respond quickly to your request for information 🤞
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne especially emails 👏 Very pleased to hear that the builders are removing rubble rather than leaving it for you to sort out 😊 It sounds like they are getting on with the job so hopefully you won’t have to suffer the noise & disruption for too much longer 🤞🙏 This “….. some banking stuff has been sorted but I found out the bank are now not doing face to face stuff with you about investment advice, they are only doing it via teams which I don't like. I used it quite a lot during covid for various meetings but as I didn't like it I have decluttered it from all my devices. I will have to have a think about this and it may involve a change of bank” sounds very intimidating 😬 no wonder you are considering changing banks. Fingers crossed your car passed its MOT without too much needing to be done 🤞 Yummy to apple crumble 😋 your freezer must be groaning under the strain of being so full 😉
Brie, loved your post ☺️ What a brilliant idea for your MiL’s china thimbles 🤩 I do hope your OH gives his permission 🙏 as it would make several people very happy - you & your friend for starters 🥹
Green_hopeful, interesting information about feather duvets 👏 Love that you gave the shed a haircut 😊 although I might have been tempted to paint a face on the shed 😉 as the ivy really did look like hair 🙊 A medal🏅 is on its way 🙂
TC77, hopefully you won’t bring back too much from your Dad’s house 🤞🙏 & fingers crossed that your DB takes a few bits 🤞
suzeesu2000, you & DH had a very productive Sunday 👏 Pity that Frankie can’t do something more useful with his carpentry skills - like build a table 🙊 Sorry 😔 Congratulations on selling your first item on Vinted 👏
oceanspirit, excellent work done on decluttering emails & dealing with another frog 👏 Good luck with the rest of the frogs 🍀
florianatwobob, excellent tidying & decluttering of the ‘Doing Shed’ 👏 although I am sorry to hear that you have hurt your back 😞 Hopefully the cream + some rest will do the trick 🙏 Also great work sorting out the kitchen cupboards 👏 This “DBro1 however was baffled as the baked beans had moved 6 inches to the right and therefore he couldn’t see them nor did they magically leap into his hand. Talk about tunnel vision.” did cause me to guffaw 😹 The leek & onion scones sound delicious 🤤 Hopefully the other 47 recipes will be just as tasty 🤞
Brambling, great decluttering of books 👏 One in, 2.something out 🥳 Excellent decluttering & tidying in the smaller spare bedroom 👏 worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way 🙂 Such a shame about This “I haven't been able to wear earrings for nearly 30 years” 😔 so I did understand This “and have held on some favourites, the gold ones were given away a while ago but today the rest were sorted, some went into the charity bag and the rest I've added to my sewing box I'll incorporate them somehow into a project.” what a brilliant idea 🤩
SpikyHedgehog, excellent work sorting out your crafting supplies 👏 I really like the sock blanket despite or probably because of it being seriously crooked 🥹 Fingers crossed that the church will soon allocate a storage space for crafting supplies 🤞
I am only 2 pages behind now but have come to a natural stopping place. After zizzing up worm food DH went into the back garden & did a lot of tidying & pruning. The flower bed around the olive tree has been raked & then had three bags of bark added. Plus the wooden table that DH made a few years ago was no longer fit for purpose & he has dismantled it 😞 All the screws were rusty but most of the wood is OK & can probably be used again 🤞 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & managing to stay warm 😊 See you later 👋
