Not much to report in. Mrs SD - the vases in the cabinet mostly have a memory attached - I have kept them where other knick knacks have gone. The tall red and white glass I bought on my first trip to Prague. It was in a display cabinet at the hotel and I admired it every time I went past so DD said why don't you just buy it - so I did. The rose bowl came all the way from Austria by train as a wedding present 55 years ago - packed in straw in a wooden box. The coloured cat bowl, even though late DH thought it was hideous, he still bought it for me at craft centre many years ago. I try not to buy anymore but I am sometimes tempted. Swarovski collection includes a tiny ink pot and quill DH bought when I had a story published in a national magazine and the pram my sister sent when my first DGC was born 20 years ago.
Plasterer should finish walls today then he is coming tomorrow to put new coving up. I then have to wait a few days for skirting and architrave. I bought the paint which was a painful experience. Trip out yesterday to historical school with interesting talk. Lovely weather yesterday but colder today. I nipped in L**l nearby and got a few bits including a mattress cover for new bed when I get it. Finally finished up that last note book from stash and will start the cheap one I bought yesterday after this post. Lost a filling but can't seem to get through to dentist which is annoying. DS2 is away this weekend so I need to try and get on with a few things. Probably gardening before things get too cold and wet.
855 Large plastic box to CS bag - one I rarely use and just keep moving around as it has no home.
856 Wellie socks in good condition (don't think they were ever worn) to CS bag
857 Last notebook from stash used up
I am going to sort the last random things in my bedroom. @vulpix - I have everything crossed for your move.

Hi all, bit of a mixed couple of days decluttering wise. Saturday I just pottered in the garden moving pots and things around but nothing really decluttered. Sunday the weather was grim and apart from a pair of Sunday socks to the rag bag and a bit of cleaning all I did was read and crochet 😁. Yesterday I was fed up with myself and decided to just get on with something. Headed to the chemist to pick up my meds, sorted them out, emptied the bedroom recycling and the bedroom bin then headed out to the garden. So a load of metal, old gates etc and other accumulated gubbins and some garden waste taken to the tip. The wood shed was completely emptied and the wood stored somewhere else dry, counting as 2 as it was quite a big job. Found a frog, a real one lurking at the back so he was surprised but I left him there with the door open so he can hop out and find another place to live 😂. The shed will have to be moved so the builders can sort out the drains for the under stairs toilet. Then the kitchen recycling and kitchen bin were emptied. After tea I just did some crochet. Felt much better than at the start of the day 😁.
Today I was supposed to be visiting my friend, M, whose DH had a stroke but she has had to cancel as he is in hospital, nothing serious she says but no further info so I am heading out to meet my friend E, who was also supposed to be visiting M today for a coffee. We are going to the local national trust property as we are both members 😁.
I wanted to reply to a few people but I am running late so will try to pop back later 😂
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Seize the day!!! Or in my case, the bra.
Had showered and was getting dressed as I was off to get my mammies grammed. (routine) (does everyone put their newest underkegs on when there's a medical appointment?)
And I looked at my stack of bras and thought this is getting out of control. So I pulled all the bras out of the drawer and sorted them into dreadful, ok, quite new. Dreadful are now in the room of doom to go to the charity shop (or bin), ok are in the bra/knicks/sox drawer and the quite new are mostly in the bottom drawer ready to leap into action when needed.
To explain - I hate bras. They irritate me in every way possible. Mentally, physically, intellectually. So the best solution I have is to buy this one brand (Fruit of the Loom) in one style (100% cotton sport bra) in various colours (white, black, red, lime green, iris blue, flowered) when I'm in Canada. A 3 pack now costs about £9. Last visit (June) I bought 3 packs. Previous visit (12 months back) I bought 2 packs. So I've got at least 25. But they don't last very well (a couple of years?) before they begin to lose shape and supportability. And now I'll I've got to do is be better about not saying "well I'll wear it one more time" and then it goes in the wash and back in the drawer and I say the same thing the next time I pull it out. If it's no longer joyful to look at I'll put it in the "go" pile.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. - Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I did do the wudupa + cancelled Friday’s milk delivery before going to bed.
Tuesday - forecast high 20°C, low 11°C, humidity 57% & supposed to be the last dry day for a while. DH was up early for a bath & then off to Fat Club (his name for WLP meeting)
1671 - 1672 Plastic packaging, a badly chipped tea plate - binned
I have my first cuppa, timer is on & I am ready to resume cheerleading
Soontobeoap, I agree with you that it is lovely to see “the chair in pride of place where it belongs” 🙂 Excellent work washing & putting away all the bedding now that your 6 grandchildren have gone home 👏 Crikey is it that time already - prepping for Christmas 😧 A real shame that the body shop couldn’t arrange for your car to be MOT’d 😞 Good luck with the decluttering 🍀 although there can’t be too much to do as you have been in maintenance mode 😉
Dizzycap, I remember your “evil tardis wardrobe of doom” 😈 Pleased to hear that you managed to get at least a couple of hours sleep having worked so hard from 02.30am & that you managed to have a quieter more relaxing day ☺️ Good luck with your new listings 🍀
suzeesu2000, belated Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 It sounds like you had a wonderful day 🥹 Especially impressed that both your friend & DH both gave you presents you wanted & that your DH cooked your birthday dinner ☺️ I have been rather remiss in making awards so a medal 🏅 is on its way for the decluttering & tidying of the landing & airing cupboard (pic on P472) 🙂
BlueJ94, good luck reassembling the plant puzzle 🍀 Well done on the DIY 👏 definitely cheaper than a new airer 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Hope your ankle is on the mend especially as you now have a better stretchy bandages 🙏
BlueJ94, I like the idea of your ‘me time’ 😊 but surely that means no decluttering 😉 although I will say good luck decluttering your kitchen drawer of doom 🍀 That is a very cute mug 😊
GrannyKate, how lovely that the DGCs spent most of the weekend with you 😊 I am assuming that means both the fridge & freezer have been decluttered of their contents 🙊 Always nice when someone else cooks Sunday lunch 😊 Hope DS1 gets to see a bit of China whilst on his business trip 🤞Lucky DD spending time with her children at the beach rather than travelling for business 😊 Hope the plasterer finished the work & didn’t make too much mess 🤞
Lovely post CRANKY40 😊 I love that your sister has caught the Decluttering Bug 🥳 I wish her lots of success with her listings & her clothes decluttering 🍀 Excellent work in your craft room 👏 & hopefully the kitten loves her new bed 😉 That is a lot of decluttering - 90 items in 7 days 🤩
Moorviews, DH & I are blessed that we have such lovely families 🥹 Hope you managed to get the laundry done yesterday 🤞 As to This “The problem areas are the DCs vacated rooms (still!) and the craft room/study. The latter would be improved if I could clear the former. Mr MV, despite my efforts, has spread his stuff significantly into the other rooms. It happens by stealth 😂 He is naturally geared to living like a student unfortunately. Where he can find a space he will dump things down and visible mess does not perturb him. For example, he will leave a pile of clean clothes on top of the chest of drawers, even though there is plenty of room for them in the drawers. It is apparently much easier to grab what he needs! I mean, just how difficult is it to get something out of a drawer?” I have a couple of very, very tongue-in-cheek 😜 ideas: 1. Clear the rooms & put locks on the doors or 2. bag up MrMV’s items, clothing etc & place them on his side of the bed with a note saying that if not put away properly the bags will be donated to CS 😜 Mind you, you might have already tried both these ideas 🤣 Good job you love him 🥹
Soontobeoap, perhaps your DH & MrMV are brothers 🙊 Although This “DH is very good at putting washing out and bringing it back in again but will leave a pile of very dry tea towels and dish clothes on a chair in the dining area rather than put into the kitchen drawer a metre away. Still he is a good soul so I forgive him! 🤣” doesn’t sound quite so bad 😉
DH got home 13:15 as he came straight back from WLP due to Tube & DLR strikes. Only 4 people due to said strikes. DH is still going the right way as he lost 0.6kg. Treated himself by making a bacon sandwich when he got home as it is a normal day for calories 😉 I have made great progress with the cheerleading so will post & come back later 👋 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊

Evening All, popping back to say hi. Unfortunately a sad event in real life happened, a close family member passed away suddenly and was laid to rest today. OH has felt it hard and just focusing on supporting him, our children and wider family. Anything else is not a priority at the moment. Though I feel the house needs a good deep clean and declutter but baby steps. Will be back soon.

Mrs_Salad_Dodger for the medal.
@Fizz2015 So sorry for your loss.Been quieter here today. My Dfriend has been copying me! She decided to declutter her airing cupboard and managed to injure herself so spent a few hours in A&E yesterday. Then her hubby cooked her a roast - and it wasn’t even her birthday🤣🤣 Good job I love her.
Decluttered dinner from the freezer.
Organised another charity shop collection for next week.Have photographed all the T-shirts from last night so will list those tomorrow. Just going to sort out nightwear now. There isn’t much of it but still needs doing. Hoping there will be enough room made in the drawer for bras. I only have a narrow drawer unit for my undies so moving the bras would allow me to spread my undies over two drawers.
I did get to start emptying the raised beds this afternoon, it’s going to be a slow job but I have, at least, made a start.Have a good evening all xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
