Another lovely day. Feel a bit bad as I had to leave DH to it as the teens didn't want to entertain the toddler. She was collected about 3 so I could help for a little while but I need to tidy through as have important visitors tomorrow.
DH hasn't stopped all day and has done over 14k steps filling the skip. I've just counted the big things that I've seen go in. A lot more than we planned as there's a hole at the back and water has been pouring in and it looks like at some point something was living in there a dh found a nest and lots of things chewed. Definitely nothing in there now as everything has been moved about and all the newer things in there were fine.
Still lots to do but it'll be the weekend as DH back at work tomorrow.

@Yoshimi2025 I did compost but now only have a wormery since I gave up my allotment. I'd just trun over the stuff in the compost heap or layer over some card or paper. I used to put my shredded paper in there but my worms like it now. The fruitflies are harmless.Florenceem - pleased Mr F is home and doing well. Vulpix - how lovely to be in Madeira although I suspect you're elswehere now!Wee Nancy, I was sad to see your post, not to have anyone over for so long. I'd help if I was there as you sound so lovely, someone should definately care about you!Great start there Charlie's Tribe! I'm surprised you didn't send some home with GD.Foxandflowers - that looks very cosy there now.Mrs SD, thanks for the encouragement. I'd forgotten about the train.@Muddywalker, it's tough managing all that stuff, no wonder you feel depressed. Can you get some support for it? I was very reluctant to accept it when I had depression but some counselling sessions did help me to cope.Moorviews, thanks for liking my kitchen. We saved a long time to do it but it was years and years ago and I still love the room. We spend so much time in there. It actually needs repainting and new chair covers made but we have other jobs first. You can only afford to do so much at a time, can't you.I had an unexpected day at home so went up to the room of doom and spent an hour filing, and decluttering. No photo today though. Did some reading, am halfway through my mother's day book called By Any Other Name by Jodi Piccoult and really enjoying it. Then we went to DD2's for DH to do some Maths tutoring before dinner with the family. DGS2 had an interview yesterday with RN and aptitude tests with RAF today. Seems very keen to join and become a chef with one of these services so we will see. He's on track to do well in his exams. He's such a lovely kind young man, I hope he gets what he wants and is happy as you have a lot of years working.TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.15

Quickly popping in to update. Dd2 home and thrown out 20 erasers which don't work - part of a long standing collection since junior school.
I finished off 2 pens at work which makes the most minor dent in the pen and pencil mountains in my house!13 -
Also coat hanger and game

Is the clinic a falls clinic Florenceem or a memory one?I was woken early by the furry alarm head butting me in the nose just after 6am, I can't repeat what I said to him! As he didn't go and knock stuff off my dressing table I stayed put until 7 but didn't really go back to sleep just dozed, he went back to sleep and didn't come downstairs until after 8, I resisted the urge to go poke him awake!I little bit of tidying today before my sister texted asking if I wanted to go to the art shop with her to stock up for her work, they have a great seconds corner. I managed not to buy anything 🥳 and gave her the two books I brought for her yesterday. I also avoided buying anything in the farm shop so a no spend day for me 😁 a £275 win on my premium bonds arrived in the bank 🙂 wins over the last couple of months have paid for the car insurance with some left to go towards the house insurance next month.
My sister agreed that the furniture didn't go where I had rearranged it, so Sunday we will move it back again.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin14 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH went out for his walk & made a friend 😉 He was resting on a park bench when he felt ‘something’ tugging his sleeve - a squirrel which was rewarded with a monkey nut. The squirrel then sat on his lap waiting for another nut, DH obliged & took the opportunity to stroke the squirrel (very soft fur apparently 😉) The squirrel tolerated it but only for a couple of seconds before moving off DH’s lap & settling down on the bench out of arm’s reach 😅 I have finished knitting the scarf - long & thin in a very pale yellow yarn in feather & fan stitch.
Dinner was sliced beef from the freezer with mash, mixed vegetables & gravy made with granules. Wudupa.

GrannyKate, your family are certainly globe trotters 😊 You might be holidaying closer to home but you are certainly going to be busy 😊 Excellent decluttering & great work emptying out the kitchen 👏 Ouch to the two falls onto your right arm 😣 I do hope you have booked an appointment with the doctor to rule out any underlying medical issues 🙏 Nice to hear that Sox has been more friendly even if it is just because he misses your DGC 😉
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
Brambling, fingers crossed that your cat doesn’t start begging & just relies on you dropping bits of chicken every now & again 🤞😉 Well done on only bringing 2 books home especially as they will only be temporary visitors 👏
Nodded off whilst I was typing so will post & go to bed. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, awake at silly o'clock as I went to bed before midnight and fell straight asleep. Had a very frustrating day yesterday. Went out early to get my hair cut and popped into the sm. Then home to wait for someone to collect one of the carpets. They had sent a message to say they would be here "in a bit". After waiting a good while I went to check my messages and couldn't find my phone 😣. Fearing the worst I bombed back to the hairdressers and there it was, phew and wouldn't you know it I missed the carpet pick up. I sent them a message to say I would drop it to them as it was my fault. About 8.50 they sent me a message with their post code so I asked for their house number and set off to the post code. They didn't reply and after sitting in the road until 10 I came home. I might be going back today if they get in touch. Apart from that 2 LDFPA and a bit of sorting out was all I managed but I was knackered 😂.
Forgot to say when I was in the loft I noticed some daylight so crossed the road to inspect the roof. Yep some slipped slate so I have sent a message to the roofers that ln used and will follow up with a phone call today.
@Moorviews well done on the rest day, I think we all need one sometimes. You are right about the surveyor, should have just turfed him out on his ear and OH is quite pleased that they aren't getting the work, and money, from me 😁 so has stopped chunnering 😂. The up side is some carp from the loft has gone 😁.
@charlies_tribe great work in the shed 😁. Reading your list of stuff moved on is amazing and well done avoiding the spiders webs 😂
@QueenJess a very pleasing total indeed 😁
@YBR glad you are finding the thread motivating 😁
@Muddy_Walker lovely photos 😁
@Florenceem I wonder at what age you qualify to attend the elderly clinic rather than any other clinic.
@Brie you do make me laugh at the thought of your DH getting dressed up to go to the tip 😂. 're honey I always find it amazing the different flavours you get. I do like honey but only eat small amounts occasionally but the best I have ever tasted was a small jar my niece brought me from Bequia, so yummy it's a good job I can't get it in the sm 😂
@Squiffy good luck to your dgs, hope he gets in somewhere to do his cheffing 😁
@TC77 I also have a pen and pencil mountain 😂. When I was working they would regularly "walk away" from my desk so had loads of spares. Now I find they last ages 😂.
Right off for another cuppa and a listen to the radio while I plan what to do today 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Dizzycap - are you okay? Didn't see a post from you yesterday.
Brambling - no idea - Mr F is waiting for an appt at the falls clinic but I think this is because he was seen by a fraility nurse while in rehab. We will find out.
Liverpool_Anne - no idea - Mr F is 73 on Friday.
A lot of stuff had been taken from outside SA so not much to put in the bin which we pay for - collected once a week.
I ended up doing 11,500 + steps yesterday - didn't take long to go off to sleep - I had over 9 hours!
Been to take an item to a charity shop this morning and stocked up more on chocolate and sweets. Posted a parcel and took unwanted medication to the chemist. I took a bag of toiletries to the £2 charity shop and went to catch a bus home - as usual - I saw a bus leaving the stop.
Going to do some chicken, jacket potato and baked beans for our midday meal then take photos for V as the sun is supposed to make an appearance.
I stored potatoes from the 15p Christmas offer in 3 layers of Primarni bags - in the garage - only small shoots and still firm enough to use.
