Morning all. A bit brighter here so far.
We went down to our friend's gathering yesterday and caught up with others there. Well worth it as we sorted out a few possible things for Jan/Feb. On the way home there was a problem on the M1 so came home via DD's to drop something off there. Didn't really want much to eat so just made some cheese on toast.
Today I shall pop up to the library, then finish the ironing and strip the bed. Tomorrow we hope to get the train down to Euston and then walk around to see the Christmas Lights. I'd like to add in a visit to Liberty's and Fortnum & Mason as well but will see how we go.
I'm enjoying this Twixmas week and am trying to alternate days of going out with quiet days at home. Tuesday will be a home day then Wednesday I'm leading a 4 mile walk for 10 friends, ending with a pub lunch. My problem is the weather forecast for the day, but we'll deal with that nearer the time.
Keep safe and well folks; the days are getting lighter10 -
Scarlet - that’s ’good’ news and I hope the treatment that DH isn’t too arduous and you can look forward to the New Year!Oh, and, don’t worry about the dust - just rest and enjoy the rest of this year
Best wishes

Morning everyone scarlet nice to hear some good news or at least something you feel able to deal with hopefully you can both relax a little bit now and I think if you look straight ahead you can’t see the skirting boards it’s a trick I learnt just thought I would pass it on . It’s chilly here and I’ve woke up with a sore throat anyway I’ve got some lozenges in and I’ve taken a couple of paracetamol hopefully it will come to nothing I’ve got a load of washing in nothing urgent just want it out of the way I’m another grinch that took the tree and the decorations down yesterday I look forward to New Year’s Day it feels like a fresh start my youngest son and his family are coming up for Sunday lunch and to tell us all about Harry Potter world apparently it was amazing and one of the best things they have ever done worth the 8 and a half hour drive down in thick fog but it was a lot easier coming back we will soon know all about it. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
in the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
we're happy tonight,
walking in a winter wonderland.Gone away is the bluebird,
here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
as we go along,
walking in a winter wonderland.† + ☆ * ☆ ☆ * ☆ + †
Morning! We moved the fatally wounded gazebo yesterday and put some salvageable stuff in the new shed, recovered it and now it can wait for a nice day to put the felt on. Today I'll be shredding the holly tree and general tidying up gardening but not much else I don't think.
Scarlet, that's excellent news about your DH, I bet that's a huge relief and thank god the results were that quick..To the ones with annoying fb children, is it an idea to unfollow them and then just look when it's not so raw? Yes, i know it may be the only news you have but they know where you live and it's making you miserable...Izzy, you did make me laugh with the skirting board advice. Sounds like my fathers whenver I said there was a funny noise coming from the car, his response...Turn the music up....Anyway, hope the poodles are better or have some nice crunchy biscuits and toys..[ am I taking this too far?]

Good morning everyone
It's damp and grey here but at least the fog/mist has thankfully disappeared.
Belated birthday greetings Remmie and so glad to hear your DHs news Scarlet.
Nothing much planned for today, I have 4 stalks of sprouts that need to be dug up and eaten and surplus frozen ( I should have sold them for 7p a bag before Xmas, that would have been a money saving idea!) However I think they will probably have to wait until after the new year.
I am going to try and post more regularly from now on as I enjoy reading along and feel I should contribute more often, not that I have anything exciting happening. I must also try to take back command of my tablet, it keeps changing the words I type, hence the poodles slip up a few days ago. It seems to have a mind of its own at times.
As always thoughts are with the sad, lonely and the poorlies.
Take care x12 -
Morning all, we had a good 2 days at xmas but the last 2 have been rubbish. Dad was so miserable on the phone on Friday that I ended the call after 10 mins but stop press I did have an apology the next day, first time in my life he's ever apologised to me ! Then Mr Fix It had someone try to buy things online with his bank card so that took over an hour to sort and he's still in the process of changing all our passwords. I don't always remember the first ones let alone any new ones 😖
The last but most devastating news I received was yesterday from the daughter of my oldest friend telling me that my friend of almost 50 years from MK had passed away with cancer, only 6 short weeks after the results. Sadly this year is ending in the same rubbish way as it started, roll on 2025 !
Today I need to sort out the fridge and freeze some things, plus I think there's a cheese fest going on in there and I'm not a great cheese lover. I'm hoping I can freeze some of that too and use it up in cooking.
Remmie belated birthday wishes for yesterday.
Scarlet that was goodish news for MrS. I hope that can settle you both for a while. I have PM'd you.
Hugs to all the poorly ones and those with toxic families. Extra hugs to anyone with bad news or sad /alone.
Take care all.

I love the idea of being a poodle rather than a poorlie ,makes me smile and feel a bit more lively
Thank you. ,!10 -
Morning all. Weather here today is sunny, no wind and feeling fairly mild.
As predicted, yesterday was a very slothful day - I watched some TV, did a bit of reading, had picky bits to eat and several cat naps in-between - and I can see today will be much the same. I have plenty of things to do but they'll have to wait as energy levels have gone down the pan and the dreaded lurgy seems to be winning. I'm officially joining the Poodle Club.
Good news @Scarlet - it will be a long road for you and DH but at least you know now what's what and have a treatment plan in place. I wish you well on your journey.
Nothing else to report, my brain can't cope with waffle today. Hugs for fellow Poodles, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning All
Fog has lifted thank goodness.
Scarlett I'm so pleased about the better news for your DH and glad the news was quick
TA and Sue please take it steady and give your bodies time to recuperate.
Remmie and Derek sorry about insensitive children sending hugs
Nanny so sorry to hear your sad news about your DF sending much love x
It's DDs birthday today we are out for lunch with her Ddad as DGC are still at their dads. Looking forward to it.
Went to a friend's for coffee yesterday nice to have a catch up and a few hours away from the men!!
If I had my way I would take all the Dec's down but DH wants them left up for the moment.
I have been giving some thought to the New Year and need to get myself into order both health wise and budget wise.
Hope everyone has good day, to all our friends North of the border stay safe and warm with the weather warning
Hugs to all who want them
