Good morning Scarlet, thanks for starting.
Still dark but all seems calm outside. Thank you all so much for my birthday wishes. DH and I don't exchange cards or presents with each other, instead he says he will spoil me, which lasts until about lunchtime then he starts to lose interest, so I make the most of it while I can. I am always emotional as I never hear from our son. This year instead he posted photos of himself and his family on Fb on a break in Spain. They know how to hurt.
Anyway today's a new day. I'll be catching up with chores not done yesterday and taking the Christmas decorations down. I also need to sort out the freezer and the leftover veg.
Have a good day all and thanks again.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I don't think we have fog this morning! But the forecast for the coming week isn't too clever with torrential rain, gales and the possibility of snow on the Northern hills promised.
Another rubbish night for me and yet I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat through the day. I think the nasty chest infection upset my body clock more than normal.. The anti b's cleared the infection but left me totally washed out and that is loathe to leave me. Since Boxing Day I have totally given in to it and doing only the bare minimum so will see if that helps.
Have a good day folks if you can and sorry for being a moaning old biddy! ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or lonely and take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. The wind has been howling and battering around the house all night with a smattering of rain, probably the warm up act for tomorrow. After my shopping expedition yesterday I watched a film, didn't watch the second one and caught up with the Chelsea Detective, Beyond Paradise and then Return to Paradise too. 😀 Before bed I loaded the DW. Despite being in the mood for a walk it would have been madness to stroll out. My agenda for today (it's not as grand as that) is to make some soup and roast the plump chicken I bought yesterday. For now I'm lingering in bed a bit longer though not really enjoying it to hang about much more.I hope that everyone is enjoying some peace and quiet after the riot of festivities. Hugs to all.13

Hi
At last the fog has lifted, it’s been so dismal the last few days.Off out for a walk in the forest with a friend but we decided to meet late morning and take lunch cos neither of us could face an early start. Can’t say that I’ve done loads over Christmas but I think not knowing what day it is and the general time of year just makes me weary.Hope everyone has a peaceful day

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Quite breezy and wet this morning but not too bad yet. It had better stay ok for today as I'm off to the Ivy in Glasgow with a pal. DS2 had a voucher to use by Tuesday so has given it to us as he ran out of time. Some cocktails may be consumed along with the food!
I had an evening of sloth yesterday after taking down the tree (bah humbug!), I needed to get the house sorted after a busy few days with visitors.
Carry on doing nothing TA, it's the best way to get better.
Hope the weather with you isn't too bad Gers, stay safe.
I feel my cold is at last getting a bit better, didn't have to use the Vicks last night!
Have a good day, take care. XX14 -

Been sneezing and have had a runny nose for a couple of days now but, thankfully it's not turned into anything worse and, hopefully won't.Nothing going on here today of any importance. DS coming round for dinner later where I'll use up some gammon to have with carbonara sauce. Profiteroles for dessert mmmmHave a good day all, keep warm and {{hugs}} for the poodles!13

morning all from a dull, dark ,dank Mehefinland.
@remmie I feel your pain. My little darling's OH posted loads of pictures of them having a 'family' Xmas on FB yesterday - all hers of course! Afraid I gave in an posted a sarky comment. Well it made me feel better but it will be like water of a duck's back. Just felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound.
However, moving on.... popped down to Dunhell yesterday and picked up 5 new led fittings to replace the awful things which Dawn would never let me take down. They ,that is the old ones, are chandelier types and are just dirt traps! The new ones look quite swish and modern in their boxes. My friendly neighbours OH is going to help me fit them -he is a retired electrical engineer. Think she just wants him out from under her feet for a bit lol.
Not much else 'occuring' at the moment.
Hugs and spoons to all that need them, especially the poodles.
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning again, I've just remembered that I didn't return after starting off at ridiculous o'clock this morning. I had another bad night.
It's sunny here, but as TA said the forecast is not wonderful.
Remmie, no one can hurt you like your own family can they. Sorry you've got this problem.
My Dh was at the hospital on Friday and the cancer support nurse said she had some good news, she said although he does have cancer, the scans show it hasn't spread, and they had warned us that it almost certainly had! She said that they were really surprised, but pleased for him of course. So he'll have radiotherapy then lifelong hormone treatment. We came home with lighter hearts than we'd gone out with.
It's been a worrying few weeks, but I know that several people on here have had, or still have, similar.
I don't know what's happening today - I was looking at the dust on the skirting boards earlier, I should really shift it, but probably won't. Disgraceful I know, but I'm tired.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can - it's a strange week between Christmas and New Year, I' m always glad when the new year is in.
Thinking of our poorly and sad people, take care folks.15
