Firstly, thank you @PipneyJane for keeping us in line last year (clutching our coupons). Please may I join for 2025? I have saved 22 coupons from 2024. I did restock my yarn stash in 2024, having donated most during the pandemic. Any yarn or fabric purchases from this point are going to be on the ration.
As we’re expecting to be snowbound tomorrow I am going to spend the day sorting my wardrobe.Fashion on the Ration
2024 - 43/66 coupons used, carry forward 23
2025 - 62/898 -
I've actually got a buy to report!
Went to Costco yesterday and saw a set of 2 pairs of slipper socks for £4.79 (inc VAT), one for me and the other as a Christmas present for DD. (This Christmas. She's... out of the country at present, so the Christmas period has been extended somewhat...)
I'll count the as slippers, rather than socks, so that's 10 coupons.
Incidentally, why is it 5 for slippers for women/girls and only 4 for slippers for men/boys? Surely, in the case of women at least, the footwear will be smaller and use less materials.A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
CHALLENGES
2025 Declutter:
1 CONTAINER (box/bag/folder etc) per day; 50/365
1 FROG (minimum) per week; 6/52
WEIGHT I'll start with 25 lbs (though I need to lose more!) and see how it goes...🤔 0/25
2025 NSDs: 15 per MONTH - FEB 4/15; JAN 21/15
2025 Fashion on the Ration: (carried over from 2024) 10+66 = 76
2025 Make Do, Mend & Minimise No target, just remember to report!

Boots ordered - size 3.5 as no 3s were available and I have quite wide feet so that may be better. I'll wait to try them before I take the coupons off though.
Has anyone else been up to the smoke for the January sales? I had a good mooch round after work yesterday and Monday and have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Plenty of stuff, but not the stuff I want. Seriously thinking about seeing if I can squeeze into children's school trousers as they appear to be better made.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

And I - don’t!
So coupons still intact

Hello all
Firstly, thanks for the welcomes @PollyWollyDoodle, @Cherryfudge and @Liverpool_Anne, I feel quite at home here, the fire is keeping me warm on a cold day.
I've been having a debate with myself about a coat that I've seen online, but I've told myself that the three coats I have already are quite enough, Think this year is going to be more difficult than I thought!

Are the three coats suitable for any of the tricks they used in wartime to make it feel like they had more clothes? Can you do clever things with scarves or making extra cuffs/collars that can be tacked on temporarily or safety-pinned from inside, etc.?2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
