Chorley RS is jumping out atm to as being q attractive... That or the Dudley RS. Not sure.
Chorley is attractive due to the fact you can deposit q a high amount a month.
Was looking for other 2 yr RS (already have Newcastle Monument and Manchester RS). I like the high interest amounts that will be paid out.
V aware rates are heading downwards. And haven't opened anything since the Progressive Xmas RS. 5% and upwards now seems okay :/
I'm assuming you mean the Principality Xmas RS? Unless I've missed something important?

I haven't yet bothered with Dudley's 5% offering as a speculative given it's branch/post only, I might do when I open the 5.5% version though and apply for both at the same time.

If you're looking for a 2 year RS, Loughborough's 2Y Super Saver at 5% could be worth looking at (assuming you're eligible), the account's recently escaped a round of interest rate cuts but does have a high minimum monthly funding requirement.
Ah not eligible for Loughborough RS unfortunately. Would have been perfect! I like RS that have high minimum deposits, and two years is even better than one!

    Dudley Festive Saver - online

I was just about to open this but the product page says 'no longer available'. Hoping it's just a Sunday blip. Anyone else managed to access and open it today?
    Ah is it gone?
Surprised it has been pulled on a weekend (if that is the case). Would have thought that only happened on a weekday?

Yes it seems very quick to have pulled this over the weekend. Someone earlier reported opening one this morning. Fingers crossed it is just an error

The 5% fixed Regular Savers are beginning to look enticing!

In the lead up to yesterday's base rate cut there was press coverage that this might be the first of several cuts in interest rates, so I decided that Halifax Regular Saver at 5.5% FIXED looked like an enticement that might grow over the next 12 months. It was the highest fixed rate that I didn't hold. By summer 2026 5.5% might look good.
I notice that there is some history in this thread about this account and the challenges of opening one, apparently easier if you are a Halifax current account customer, so here is my fresh experience in case anyone else feels 5.5% fixed is worth it.
Spoiler -  if you get to a screen that says something has gone wrong go to branch, then click "back" in your browser and complete the screen that has been jumped over.
Halifax's website says this can be opened online, on app, in branch or by phone. The branch bit is a lie.
I have been a Lloyds customer for decades, and held accounts with other parts of LBG, but never Halifax. Online it suggests that you can use a Lloyds or BoS login to open this account. Also not true. Nor can you use the Lloyds app (not sure anywhere claims you can).
OK, so apply online as a new customer. Complete their "Stage 1" form with personal details. Submit. Web then gives "Stage 2" form, asking how you will fund the account. Submit and then you get a page telling you there has been a problem and please try in branch. I repeated this several times over a couple of days, including in my local branch in front of staff, who are not able to open accounts in branch, but suggested phone or a branch 10 miles away that does offer appointments. Same experience in firefox, safari and edge under win 10, win 11 and ipadOs.
In the end I sat down to try the first form with multiple combinations of mobile and landline phone numbers and e-mail addresses in case I was failing an identity check (remember Lloyds knows me). Getting frustrated at completing form 1 from scratch, I decided to see if the back button in my browser would work at the "unsuccessful go to branch" page, and whoa here comes the never been seen before "Stage 3" form, asking you to agree to the Ts&Cs for this sort code and account number. Click agree and it works. :D  Within 5 minutes have e-mails confirming RS and associated Everyday saver (where funds empty in December 2026). Both accounts appear in Lloyds app. I funded RS by transfer from Lloyds CA in app.
Text OH who is having coffee and gossip with friend, confirm OH wants one too, and repeat. Only difference is that OH does not have the Lloyds app.
But with the BoE MPC voting only 5:4, will we see more rate cuts?

Just tried the back button and at last lve got myself a halifax RS.
Thank you very much for the information you gain from applying.
I've been trying  to open one, on and off since April.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas. 🎅

The account shows as NLA on their website and has dropped off their list of accounts to apply for in online banking. Application links for their other accounts appear to be working so it seems to be very much NLA.
I tried applying  for the festive saver Fri  evening around 10ish. The application  went through?? They stated it would take 3 working days to get in touch, but then another screen came up minute  or so later, saying there was a technical problem.
So, I'm not sure now if lm 'in' or not now?

Post/branch still seems to be available.  But online now gone - that was so quick, is it a record?
Managed to grab one earlier this morning buy got message saying they would be in contact within three working days so not yet funded.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Not quite a record, Monmouthshire BS offered a 7% regular saver in 2023 that was gone within 24 hours.

Bob2000 I would try contacting them if you don’t hear within three working days (but don’t mention the technical problem screen - most people would have closed the screen within a minute and perhaps it refreshed itself to cause the problem.) As you applied before it was pulled, they should honour it.

It was me that successfully applied online this morning, about 9:15. Smoother than I was expecting given the experiences reported here but I did have an online account still open with them rather than just the postal RS. They seem to operate the two very separately given the differing account numbers for funding depending on opening method. Email arrived containing funding details about an hour later.

I was expecting the Festive to be gone by the end of January at the latest given the name, but the Sunday NLA feels like a first. Monday would have seemed safe for those waiting given the Friday launch and today was the first day (possibly - see my above comment re anniversary listed as the 20th) to get an account maturing on a working day. Perhaps someone has made a mistake and it wasn’t supposed to be opened to online applications.
