My Newcastle Regular Saver has matured, it's now an Easy Saver Issue 5

    £2.41 total, £1.41 interest, yay 😊😁

I've checked account details in app it's coming up with 2% Annual which is what I thought it would be, so that email still baffles me but hey ho.

Guess I'll get the interest out and leave £1 in.

Edit: got my interest paid into my Virgin account earlier, transferred to my Santander Edge Saver
Got the maturity dosh, inc. £78 interest and opened another RS - 5.25% which is OK for me.

    Usual drill:

Chorley BS Regular Saver (30.09.2026) and Chorley BS Regional 2 Year Flexible Saver (30.09.2027) at 5.15% both set to go NLA tomorrow.

    Replaced by
Chorley BS Regular Saver (31.10.2026) and Chorley BS Regional 2 Year Flexible Saver (31.10.2027) at the same rates but with new maturity dates.

The cheque probably cleared in October (date in my passbook is 5 days before it cleared my bank) but missing funding could have been avoided by sending the full £250 by cheque, or replying promptly. 11 days from missed call to contact, then not following up when nothing was heard from them for 11 days following that.

With that said, if the account is now open with no further input from you, it does beg the question as to why your application has been held up. If the call you had missed was merely a courtesy call then you would expect the welcome pack to go out as normal.

    Re Scottish BS replies  :)

I had read others saying they had  courtesy call from them, in same way as some people do not like paying for stamps, I am not keen on phoning chargeable phone numbers, I fully expected to receive either account opening details by post or application returned stating needed DL etc.

I will reply to email merely expressing disappointment at delay in opening account  causing me to miss out on topping up to £250 maximum monthly deposit, did not send cheque for £250 as felt plenty of time to receive account details and send £200 faster payments. ( i had actually given up on receiving anything from them)

My Gatehouse Bank Regular Saver Issue 2 matures on 4th November. It has been earning 5.30% variable for a year with a monthly deposit of (up to) £300. There doesn't seem to be a replacement RS account being offered by Gatehouse at the moment when I checked today. Just wondering if anyone knows if a replacement is on the horizon?

They may reply saying that the delay has been caused by yourself, due to you waiting 11 days to message them after receiving the missed call.

Do you not have free phone calls included with your mobile or landline contract, like most people?
