Thanks for your replies.  So I think that the people who have 2 accounts and did not have accounts closed recently or money returned are ok.  I had 2 accounts closed and £4K+ returned and got on the naughty list...

Many BS’ and some banks e.g., Danske is NI only  restrict access to accounts based on postcode. Thems the breaks.

Danske bank has a really good switching bonus which (if you're a new customer) is only available if you're resident in Northern Ireland. You win some, you lose some.
  • Thanks for the info on the new Suffolk reg saver.
Does this account “start” from the date you open it? Or from the date you make the first deposit?

Date of opening, but it doesn't matter much as the maturity date is fixed.

  • Please can some kind soul remind me, is Nationwide like Lloyds one of the regular savers you can renew? Trying to free up some cash but want to still open replacements to keep the 6.5 and 6.25 rates.  Many thanks in advance.

Recently tried this with Progressive but got refused

You can renew the Nationwide account. If you close it today the system will allow you to open a new one tomorrow.
