All I’m getting is the maintenance message within seconds of opening the app
Thanks all. App downloaded but all I get for 10's of minutes is "Getting things ready"! Tried twice so far. I'll give it another 10 mins and try again tomorrow.

Edit: will post progress (or not) for the interest of other applicants.

Haven't read the full terms on account of it keep crashing. Can we fund today and again on 1st September?
The T&Cs are available on the website

This helpfully pays interest at the end of the 12 months, so in the next tax year which is helpful for us this year! £1000 is really very good a month, not sure we have this floating around to fund but we will need to re jig some of our other reg savers in favour of this one at 7%

Just be wary its variable. I might think twice about rejigging fixed rate ones to favour a variable!
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

And as we're dealing with MONBS the app is currently down, undergoing maintenance !!!
Nah, app's fine. Opened the account in five minutes.

AND, they've removed the need for 2FA after biometric login.

    All good.
You got lucky, it's down with a maintenance message and 2FA is still there if using PIN.

Our system is currently under maintenance, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
And so it rmains so! Unistalled the app 3 times since 5pm & still the same as above at 8.30pm  :/

I figure I'll be able to get the latest Nationwide Regular when I can & for time being I have the new Virgin one at same rate + can fund £50 more each month into that compared to Nationwide anyway.
    ...
Personally I'd open a new Nationwide RS as soon as allowed and stick in the minimum balance (£1 ?).

Nationwide have past form for pulling their RS offering with no prior warning and then going a long time before offering a new one.  If you have the account opened already then you can't miss out if they do pull the account.

Your potential loss from opening a new one now would be not having the maximum benefit from the 12-month term. But a less-than-maximum-benefit is a better outcome than no benefit at all, if you did miss out.  You could also consider repeating the closing/opening when you are ready to fund the account.
I don't have funds to start another which is why I'm closing it near enough a month early because I need to fund other regular savings at the start of September.

Nationwide have had several versions of the 6.5% account, the current version is 6, I'm closing a version 3 in a few days.

The Nationwide Regular only allows £200 to be paid in every month but Virgin Money allows £250 to be paid in every month.

There's no point in me opening a new account if I can't fund it properly.

If it's any consolation due to being at work I didn't get chance to apply before the app stopped working. I plan to just leave it till tomorrow and try again then.

Just closed my Nationwide Flex Regular 3. Was due to mature in 20 days but needed the money to fund next months regular savers.

I just tried to reopen the Flex Regular 3 but computer says no. Anyone know how long before the system lets me open another Flex regular saver. Thanks.
You'll have a job, the current version is 6🤣

Just catching up with the MonBS news. Is the feeling that the system maintenance message is because of system overload rather than actual maintenance and when things calm down later on, it might work then?
