Three accounts opened and no ID requested, so a pass can probably be assumed if you’ve been at the same address for a while.janusdesign said:
that's interesting - I got as far as reading there was a passbook and moved on.Bridlington1 said:
You can make withdrawals by faster payment if you send them a secure message, though they have a minimum withdrawal amount for faster payments (£100 IIRC but don't quote me on that).masonic said:
According to the summary page "You do not need to make a payment into your account each month", so you could pay in £5,500 and leave it for the rest of the term. You can also take it to £6000 and withdraw the interest as it comes in, but I'm not sure if that's possible online.trickydicky14 said:
The only problem is once you reach 6K your stuffed as the rate is only 2.5%Bridlington1 said:
It can also be opened by post. Once opened it can be managed online and by post.wmb194 said:

Thanks for any help...
"Based on the current rate of interest, if you deposited £500 on the 1st of each calendar month, after 24 months you would have £12,548.19."

if applying by post, do you need to send some form of ID, or can you assume you will pass the electronic checks and only need to send them something if you fail?1 -

You can have the 5% one (soon to be reduced) AND the 6% one at the same time and when I went to fund my sparkly new 6% one a few weeks ago it gave me the option to do an online transfer of £250 FROM the 5% one to the 6% one.schiff said:How did I miss the Darlington Issue 2 ?!!??
For interest (pardon the pun) you'll see the new 6% Darlington RS announced on page 463 of this thread, dated 8th August. There was debate over whether an issue 1 and an issue 2 could be held at the same time and many of us learned that yes, this is fine.

Regarding the Darlington 5% Regular Saver, for those wishing to close it I have experience of this too, as mine was due to mature in January, but I needed the funds early, so in July I withdrew it all, closed the account (and then opened a new one when I realised I could...)
The way to do it is this - it states that two penalty free withdrawals are allowed but at the third one, the account will be closed. After making the two withdrawals, upon trying to make the third the website told me this was against the terms of the account, so I rang them. After speaking to a customer service agent I learned that to close the account I had to secure message with "I would like to close this account, and for the funds to be sent to my nominated account (and the details of this, sort code and account number etc.)"
Just in case anyone gets stuck xxx9 -
