Just checked and I have a standard savings account open form previous years. I just recalled someone saying they were able to open a new regular save rover the phone, which sped up the processThePirates said:
You need to have the 'standard' Savings Account already open for them to transfer the cash intogranta said:First Direct Regular Saver
Mine is maturing soon and as usual, have been informed I can't open a new one until this one closes. I recall someone posting they had managed to shorten the interval between closure and new opening, perhaps by phoning. Can anyone clarify what this is please? Keen to get one open asap before a potential rate decrease0 -
I was able to apply for a new RS (via the app) as soon as the old one had disappeared. The new RS has been set up with a fund date 2 days later than the one it replaces. There was a Savings Account already in place to receive the maturing funds.granta said:First Direct Regular Saver

Strange! Just now, got the warning but clicking Login on the warning takes you to normal login! No problem logging in. I'm on MS Edge on a Win10 PC.jaypers said:
Just tried it on Safari on an iPad and clicked Login on the pop-up which takes me to the login screen without issue.flaneurs_lobster said:

Would prefer not to contact them about it myself

Being nosey... How many Regular Saver accounts do you have? — MoneySavingExpert Forum2 -
Firefox working fine for me too.Section62 said:flaneurs_lobster said:
Indeed it does, leaving the previous screen where a press of the login button brings up the pop-up.....Click close should get rid of message.A great way of helping to prevent people being scammed.... if an endless loop means you can't log in then you can't transfer your life savings to that Nigerian Prince. Job done.I'm not getting the problem with Firefox... these sort of issues seem to be getting more and more browser-specific.0 -
Thought I managed to make an extra payment to my Principality 6 month regular saver yesterday. It looked like it had been credited as my balance had increased, but it’s been returned this morning.
the terms does state that it has a limit of £1200, but I thought I’d test it anyway. In case anyone is wondering.9 -

I know how you feel! I missed HSBC's 7% regular saver last year because I was trying to keep the maturity dates of regular savers spread outclairec666 said:

I have issue 2 @ 4.75% can I open issue 5 and if so, do I have to close issue 2.allegro120 said:
Yes, Cahoot issue 5 is paying 5%. I've got 2 of them and they are full. I was talking about issues issues 2 and 3, they pay 4.75%.35har1old said:
Is Cahoot not paying 5% now?allegro120 said:
Thanks for trying and sharing. I withdrew the minimum allowed £10k today (arrived within 4 hours), but wasn't sure how to deal with the rest. Now I know I will be closing this account tomorrow or Monday. The money will camp in 4.8% Chase until 8th May and then move to 4.75% Cahoots. Cahoot usually gives 60 day notice, so no point for me keeping £1k+interest in HEBS. I hope closure is as quick as withdrawal, not the next working day.friolento said:friolento said:

Are there any terms for Hanley on minimum deposit, or missing monthly deposits?https://web.archive.org/web/20231209161548/https://thehanley.co.uk/savings-accounts/The account must be opened with £1,000.
The minimum balance is £1,000, the maximum balance is £100,000.
A subscription of between £250 and £1,000 should be received each calendar month and you can vary the amount you wish to save. You can make more than one subscription per month providing the maximum subscription is not exceeded. You can make subscriptions by Standing Order, Bank Transfer or Debit Card. Please note Debit Card deposits can be only be made via the Online Portal/Mobile App.
If no subscriptions are made for 3 consecutive months or if 3 or more monthly subscriptions are missed throughout the anniversary year the Society, after giving you 60 days notice of our intention to do so, reserves the right to close the account and either return the balance or transfer it to an Instant Access Account.
You can make 5 withdrawals per tax year (6 April to 5 April) without penalty. All other withdrawals are subject to 30 days loss of interest on the amount withdrawn. Withdrawals will be made to the nominated bank account provided at the time of opening the account. £1,000 must remain in the account following a withdrawal.
HEBS appear to be very sharp. I already had an email reminding me that the min balance is £1,000 and that they would close my account in 60 days if my withdrawal was intentional. I duly made a £1,000 deposit as I don't want to give up that account - yet.
Has anyone had any experience in closing Hanley's online/app accounts?I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0 -
The Cahoot website lets you open issue 5 without closing issue 2 or 3, many of us have with no problems. The T+Cs suggest you shouldn't, let's not be asking Cahoot for clarification as they will quote the T+Cs, and may decide to enforce them.I have issue 2 @ 4.75% can I open issue 5 and if so, do I have to close issue 2.4 -
