I applied for the Melton Adcock Regular Saver by post to their freepost address about a week ago and indicated I would make my opening deposit by electronic transfer.  I received a slip from them yesterday with the details needed to do this.  COP matched and I have transferred the opening deposit.
My question is do I need to ring them to obtain online access or when they have credited the account will they send me out details for this along with their saving card/passbook?
    Thanks
You will receive a letter with your online ID. Another letter asking you to ring them to get. a temporary online password. When you call them they give you the first digits of the password and they email you the remaining digits . You can then log in and set your own password. I received a passbook from them showing the entry for my initial £150 deposit made by electronic transfer. I also received another letter with details of how to verify my nominated bank for withdrawals.
What details do you have to enter to setup SO
IE your name or societies name?
    Personal or business ?
Bank sort code and account number ref passbook account number
    Currently bank not recognising details

Just set up my 2nd monthly payment to Melton Adcock RS for 01/04 (initial payment was by cheque). New payee, details as above, from RBS current account, Confirmation of Payee returned OK. Payment good to go.

How long is your reference number? If it's 12 characters, try with an extra space added at the end.

Are you setting up the payment as ``personal" or ``business"? You should get a COP match if you do it as your name and personal. If not if you've checked the details and are certain they are correct then I would send some money anyway. I've done this with a fair few accounts I've opened but COP has failed due to the account only just being opened and the money's still arrived.

Mine have all failed also, Issue 6 and Adcock from Halifax and an attempt to set Issue 6 up on my Nationwide instead. I just sent a test payment for £1, overrode COP and now send all payments to Melton using those details. Hopefully all forumites with the issue have at least one bank account that allows COP to be overriden.

It would appear these are falling in number as time goes by. If they do all disappear, hopefully debit card funding will regain popularity as a fall-back.

Rather than more debit card deposits, I'd like to see more deposits through Open Banking

Because it is a lot faster and much more convenient. There are also already several options for the few debit card transactions required for some other offerings,
