  • RE: Yorkshire BS Loyalty Regular e-Saver

Mine is set to mature in a few weeks and I wonder if anyone has managed to close theirs and re-open another in the same day... Or does it take longer than that?
Mine matures in a couple of weeks too. It's variable, so haven't seen any advantage in closing/opening early.
RE: Yorkshire BS Loyalty Regular e-Saver renewal

I guess I was wondering whether it would be fortuitous to try the 'refresh' route in case the rate dropped for the currently available product, or it was taken off market.

Re Loughborough Holiday monthly saver application, how long did you have to wait on a response after emailing application and id docs?
I emailed my application on Monday afternoon but got no response - so I called this morning to enquire.
Despite providing the date and time of my email, it couldn't be found on their system, so I emailed it over again while I was on the phone - and she was able to confirm she'd received it and all my documents were in order.
I'm now just awaiting an email confirming the account's been opened and with details of how to make my initial payment.
Given my experience, if you've been waiting a few days for an acknowledgement of your email, it might be worth giving them a call to check it's been received.

I’ll give them until Wednesday before ringing to enquire - that gives them a week.

I doubt it’s attracting HEBS Branch Saver levels of interest, but as the account had been live for almost two days before I sent it, I’d expect to be in a queue. If it gets to Wednesday and they don’t have it, I presume I can just forward it out of my sentbox which proves when it was originally sent.

Furness RS reductions in the pdf at the bottom of the link

    https://www.furnessbs.co.uk/savings/savings-interest-rates

For me the, still available, Christmas RS 2 remains at 5.25%
Whilst then RS5 is down to 4.5%
The RS5 is the current issue according to the key features summary box, and is at 4.75%
yet it is also on the accounts NLA list at having already dropped to 4.5% today
I presume that have made an error as the required notice hasn't been given

You'd suspect, the interest rate drop, was the same date as that highlighted by the user below?

Please, if we could put the subject on top of our posts this forum would become more readable. The name of the bank or building society we're talking about might be perfect
I'd prefer the title of this thread to contain something like  'PLEASE STATE THE INSTITUTION YOU ARE REFERRING TO WHEN REPLYING'.

This might cut down on the amount of mind reading needed when forumites who don't.

Some don't even use the quote function!
Your last sentence implies that you need to state the institution whether or not you quote. If I've quoted somebody, then I'm certainly not going to state the institution again for others who can't be bothered to navigate the 'show previous quotes' feature.
    You've misunderstood.

Some forumites don't quote the institution or product and neither do they quote the original post they are replying to.

I.e. it's impossible to fathom what product they are talking about when others have added comments on other products in the meantime.

Quite possibly, but that user was commenting on a different thread about a different product, not a reg saver, which I had not been reading, and the document said "effective from 7th February" and still does, despite that user having contacted Furness BS.

Not just one "user" ...... see posts on this page....

Furness unfortunately omitted a line that was supposed to say something along the lines of  changes to take effect on 21/02/2025. CS apologised that the date of the pdf looks like it suggested the changes take effect of 7th Feb.

Quite. It was the thread on easy access accounts, not regular savers.

The pdf doesn't "look like it suggested the changes take effect on 7 Feb". It states they do. "Effective from 7th February 2025"
So they were alerted to it and it remains there, incorrect.

In future, I'll be sure to read every thread about something else before making comment on what the thread is actually about.  :/
