email was headed Notice of interest rate decreaseflaneurs_lobster said:
Those terms are so different that it must be a new product?happybagger said:I've just had an email from Earl Shilton on their rate changes
Their monthly regular saver goes from 3.60%
... to 6.00%
I kid you not. I had to double check it wasn't a new product.
I'm not sure what is happening here as the existing RS terms allow up to £1k per month and unlimited balances but the new interest rates show up to £500 pm max balance £5k
source
NB: Current product is not unlimited funding (no product ever is) - max balance £100k.1 -

I posted an application form and cheque 1st Class on Thursday. My RS has been opened and is now showing in the app. That was quick, shame they can't get deposits to show so quickly
**Can one have an Online version and a Postal one at the same time? This product is limited to one account per person. There seems to be no Furness account access either online or via the app at present. I can't remember if there was maintenance this weekend or not.

Did you send the form to the head office or to a branch address?0 -
I posted my application form by first class post on Thursday to the Head Office (Emlyn Hughes House). No idea if it has been received and the account open (I have no online or app access). Cheque (£160) not yet debited but this would not be expected to be through until Monday at earliest (if banked on Friday). The form was not specific to this account and had no instructions on it as to where to post the form. If I've sent it to the wrong place, this may cause a bit of delay.chris_the_bee said:Stargunner said:

If anyone else is thinking of sending a postal application, the cheque should be payable to oneself. Note that the maximum amount is the unusual figure of £160 (not £150, although that would presumably be accepted)2 -
HSBC
Do any additional "catch-up" payments into their regular saver have to be sent via an amended Standing Order, or can it be by Faster Payment, please? Looking at their T&C's, I think it's the former but one of their reps said it can be by Faster Payment.0 -
My reading of the terms was that regular deposits needed to be made by SO, but one off payments, i.e. to catch up on payments didn't.10_66 said:HSBC

My experience might be out of date, but I used to make Faster Payments to my HSBC RS and it was fine. I'd suggest you make an internal transfer and see what happens.10_66 said:HSBC

I did this recently and simply totaled what the maximum payments into the regular saver could have been less the10_66 said:HSBC

£25 monthly I had put in and transferred the difference online from my current into the regular saver moving money between accounts. If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids
