I sent mine after midnight so technically the 1st. Not credited yet but I'll hold off until after the 9am update tomorrow b4 contacting if still necessary.SCC2 said:Sent monthly payment to Monmouth on 30th Sept, rather than 1st Oct. Anyone know if they bounce back automatically as I’d already reached the Sept limit? It hasn’t been credited but just wondered if anyone has experience before I contact them.0 -
Re. Scottish BS RS
Applying as a new customer, can the application be emailed together with id and deposit sent by bank transfer once account is open or do i need to send application, id and cheque in post?0 -
See https://newcastle.co.uk/savings/monument-regular-saver-branch which is the "real" equivalent account from Newcastle, bit niche though.jameseonline said:
Am I right in thinking the Manchester Regular Saver is 5.5%, where as Newcastle Regular is only 5.25%?, also Manchester has a £500 monthly limit Vs £200 Newcastle?.
Bit crazy if so as Newcastle own Manchester.

I genuinely over subscribed to Monmouth last month and the payment came back a day or so later. No message telling me I’d overpaid though.SCC2 said:Sent monthly payment to Monmouth on 30th Sept, rather than 1st Oct. I applied for the Scottish BS RS this morning by email.
Just had an email from them advising that the account is now open and ready to be funded. They have asked me to post them a cheque. I have emailed them back advising that I don’t have a cheque book, and have asked if I can do a bank transfer from my nominated bank .9 -
Thanks, please let us know what they say. If it's necessary to post a cheque then there's little point to an emailed application, as it doesn't save the postage.Stargunner said:I applied for the Scottish BS RS this morning by email.

I phoned earlier for confirmation that I could make 1st payment by bank transfer and CS said yes. I normally write at top of form "To be paid by bank transfer once account is open."3 -

Could grief what is the matter with me

My standing order for Newcastle bounced back this afternoon and I assumed it must be a 1st of the month quirk (no idea where that theory came from) so I sent off £200 again.
Then I logged in and realised this is the anniversary month so it bounced because it had reached its full £2400 so the 2nd payment will also bounce back as well!
No maturity instructions as yet but still slightly early - will they arrive by email or letter and will I be able to give instructions via the account online?
Last year I didnt manage to get OH a Newcastle regular saver last October, ID issues so prior to my Newcastle maturing I might have another attempt. Yes its only 5.25% and variable but it will be somewhere to put funds from the accounts that will be culled this month - Leek, Stafford, at least one Coventry ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Suffolk Building Society - Regular saver ending Sept 2025
This has matured into a holding account but I can't see how to withdraw the funds online. Any ideas?1
