Your £1 does makes you a 'shareholding member', although as you correctly point out, £100 is required to give you voting rights.where_are_we said:However you need £100 in a savings account to be a voting member, so my £1 left in EA@2% will not make me a member. They are celebrating 160 years in existence this year so, "who knows", there might be a competitive RS.
You make a good point about membership here - they had a 150yr loyalty bond which had a max of 5k and had a really good rate, which when it matured became easy access at a good rate at the time.
They could choose any criteria they wanted for a loyalty account, I'd always keep £100 if possible.2 -
You mean you've upgraded from oil and gas lamps in your house?spreadsheeterapple said:the West Brom Regular Saver, rejection saga continues with a new slant, being can I still write a good signature.
"We have been able to satisfy our requirements regarding your identity, however, we have been unable to open your account, as the signature you uploaded to the Portal does not match the signature we already hold on record for you." - and they request a new signature form sent back by post.
Thing is, the one I uploaded was the exact same image uploaded a few weeks prior for an easy access account; I did that for the exact reason of avoiding query. I didn't do a new one because it's a bit of a rigmarol requiring impatient hubby, his digital camera over my signed piece of paper, software to crop an image from it, then hand me on memory stick to pop on my computer, for me to upload; we don't have smartphones. I also fear it differs a bit from my 9-yr-old passport, which I must have done really carefully & probably practiced beforehand.
- we don't really sign anything anymore, do we, these modern digital times.
- Last cheques years back, direct debits (e.g. electric) are set up online or over phone, other applications never need signing when applying online; I'm really out of practice signing anything and am getting older. I just tried a few on a piece of paper which I will burn, none identical nor even matching passport or the original WestBrom upload.
I'm doomed.
and fear not being able to withdraw in a year's time anyway........I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
I take it you're not a local?spreadsheeterapple said:the West Brom Regular Saver, rejection saga continues with a new slant, being can I still write a good signature.

No, it opened back in December. I'd hoped the 'member since' might have nudged forward with the new year, but thusfar no.friolento said:silvercar said:Coventry loyalty seasonal saver, 6%, max £250 per month, 12 month term, 30 days loss of interest on amount withdrawn before 31/10/25 , then free access.

For some reason they have been sending out emails to members about this product today. Can't remember if it was posted in this, or another, thread.friolento said:silvercar said:Coventry loyalty seasonal saver, 6%, max £250 per month, 12 month term, 30 days loss of interest on amount withdrawn before 31/10/25 , then free access.

That's very strange if it was the exact same image.spreadsheeterapple said:the West Brom Regular Saver, rejection saga continues with a new slant, being can I still write a good signature.

If you can't provide something they will accept, you could make a complaint mentioning the FCA rules about reasonable adjustments for vulnerable customers.

TSB regular saver account 6%.
It says a single payment per month by standing order up to £250 from my tsb current account.
My question is can it just be funded by a manual payment from my tsb current account or would tsb return payment/close the account? I don’t want to leave the funds in the current account receiving no interest, ready for the standing order to be sent.1 -
I've just applied and it gives you multiple options including uk current accounts with another bank.Yorkshire_Pud said:TSB regular saver account 6%.

Their system won't let you make an internal transfer from a TSB current account to the RS, but you can make a payment up as if it were an external payment and it seems to work - I've been doing this for the last few years without problem, but one day that might change. The T&C's won't be on our side if it ever does change.Yorkshire_Pud said:TSB regular saver account 6%.
