Furness BS Xmas RS Iss 2

I think a few of the existing customers may have been caught out when applying online today (not app) by a page that said "You need to review the T&C's to continue". The review T&C's button was hidden further down the panel and you had to scroll down that sub-panel to see the button! Once I'd spotted that all went well and I got the account after a few minutes and was able to fund it from the "Matured RS EA" account which I left £501 in. Until I'd spotted the scroll down problem, it did appear that I was going around in circles a few times! Hope this helps anyone yet to apply online.

How long does Furness funding take to appear? I eventually managed to open the a/c..COP check failed (as expected) so waiting for a £5 payment to appear before I send the other £495.

@Bridlington1 - Thanks for all the work you do mainting this and other threads, they really are invaluable.

The link to the Loughborough BS 5 Year Retirement Monthly Saver returns a "Sorry, that page could not be found ..." and I can't find the account on their site. Has the account been pulled?

A suggestion for the Newcastle, Ford Money, and Aldermore entries. They would benefit from stating something along the lines of "requires funding from your nominated account" in the special conditions sections. I find these accounts annoying because I can't fund them directly from my savings account. There may be others too?

Sorry, can't help you with external funding, but if it helps anyone funding internally, it was minutes.

Funds arrive the next working day if funding from an external account in my experience.

The account has just gone NLA. It was still available yesterday evening though so for those whishing to open the account if you are quick and send off a completed application form with everything backdated to 13/1/25 you may be able to still grab the account as they'll likely blame delays with Royal Mail for the application form arriving late.

Thanks for the suggestion, it shall be implemented shortly. AFAIK though deposits into Newcastle do not necessarily need to come from your nominated account.

Mansfield BS Bonus Regular Savings (8th issue)

Evening folks.

Has anyone previously had one of these and then closed it after the bonus ran out and then successfully opened another one.

The terms say the following:

Limited to one Bonus Regular Savings (8th issue) account per customer.

Does this mean only one ever or only one at a time?

I interpreted it as one account at a time and refreshed the account at the end of the last tax year.

I was able to successfully open a second Bonus RS once the old one had been closed without any problems (both accounts were even opened at the same branch).

Not yet appeared on my app.  I'll check it again tomorrow morning.  I've made £1 deposit to another Furness account two months ago, can't remember the timescale, but would have made a note in my spreadsheet if the delay was longer than next working day.

This normally means "one at a time" I've sent my passbook 1st class yesterday, was hoping that they might be able to close it today, but the account is still there. I hope they will close the old one tomorrow so I can open the new one.  It was my first ever RS with Mansfield, so it was good to learn that the exit is not as quick and easy as I expected.
