    SUFFOLK NEW REGULAR SAVER 5%
Applied and funded it in a minute. It can be opened even by those with the previous version of the saver paying 4.85% ending July 2026. The rate is not the greatest (5% fixed) but the end date is 30 Sept '26, so a 15 months saver. Thank you Bridlington1 for let us know in advance last week. If you have already an account with Suffolk the link to the new regular saver can be found clicking the button Apply after logging in
Interesting that if you open the Branch/Postal version you can save up to £500pm whereas the online version is only £250.
Mine is online version ending June 2025, pays 5%. It allows £500pm.
In that case it has matured already. Current online RS is £250 per month
It was a typo, I meant June 2026, apologies, now corrected.

I phoned Suffolk BS for the first time today, it was answered quickly and they were really helpful (my account got locked as I wasn't receiving 2FA text messages to complete the login) - While I was on the phone they confirmed you can open multiple online 1 Yr Fixed Rate Regular Savers as long as they are different "issues", those with different end dates, so I did!

Anyone get an email from Coventry reminding them to pay in by the end of July to qualify for the last Sunny Day Saver draw in August? I don’t know why they send it to me as I paid in on the 1st and now wonder whether paying in too early in the month has meant being erroneously left out. At least when you didn’t win with Nationwide you got an email confirming that you had been entered.

I do think that the e mail is just a generic reminder, nothing to do with your personal balance on that account and has been obviously sent to everybody. I deposited money well after the first week in July and received it today as well

I think some banks and building societies aren’t very clever with their emails. I opened a Club Lloyds Monthly Saver last week and transferred the maximum monthly payment of £400 into it on the same day. The following day I got an email from Lloyds saying that in order to make the most of my new account I should pay some money into it as soon as possible!

I haven't had a reminder. Then again, I can't find any email correspondence from Coventry, even when I opened accounts, so maybe I didn't supply them with an email address.
  • Payments to BS over weekends
I seem to remember there was a list of which BS do not accept payments over weekends, deferring them to the next business day.
Also similar for after business hours payments.
    Can anyone help please.
  • Hopefully an easy one.

Recently completed a switch to RBS for the £125 incentive, now opening a DRS for the extra £50. Is using this account as advertised "pointless" if I have a lump sum, or can save around 800pcm rather than 150? I'm not great with numbers, but I think I would get a better return just sticking a big lump into an easy-access savings account rather than top this up for X amount of years.
