SANTANDER MONTHLY SAVER -  how can I make my monthly payment without incurring the Edge current account monthly fee? I have tried to set up a Standing Order from another bank account as I only have a 'R'account number and no sort code, so it was not possible.

PS I have posted this question already but cannot find it to delete it.

The regular saver can only be funded by standing order from your Edge current account.
Doing so will not trigger the fee. Only direct debits would do that.

I normally just do a transfer from my Edge account each month.

Apparently there is a way which someone posted in this thread last month but it has since been removed. I presume this is because MSE don't like users posting account details in case it leads to some form of scam.

The R account has to be used as the reference number for the payment.

It can be funded from any Santander account and it doesn’t require a standing order.

If I add funds to my Edge current account to pay into the Monthly Saver, will that not trigger the monthly account fee?

When you do an internal transfer, whether one-off or by SO,  you don’t need any R number, or other number. They do force you to enter something into the Reference field, however. Mine says “for the RS”. I did set up the SO in the app - not sure it would be different if you do it in online banking

I was referring to using the R number as the reference when making a payment from a non Santander account

You can fund the edge saver from every day current, edge current etc, to not trigger a fee, don't meet the conditions that trigger the fee

No. As long as you've not had any direct debits from the account.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Nope, maturity date is 3 September, Issue 2. Expect they'll be writing to me about that in a couple of weeks or so.
Maturity instructions have appeared on the Principality site today for accounts maturing on 17th July.

Having apparently failed to satisfy the Mitek tests related to my opening the latest YBS RS - I've since been receiving reminders 'You have two days left to complete the requirements', 'One day left...', 'Today is the LAST day! ...' I've now out of the blue had the clearance! I can fund it! Yet I've done nothing since the first reminder came except close three of my four EA accounts with them, reducing the other to the £1 minimum and deciding not to pursue such a poor interest rate in the first place. Especially since the announcement of the EA account at the wonderful Principality.
The two RSs that I still have are there for now as the 4.80% and 5.05% interest rates are just about acceptable.
