Virgin Money have launched a new regular saver account, Regular Saver Exclusive (issue 2), paying 6.50% (fixed rate)

    - Pay in up to £250 per month.
    - The maximum investment is £3,250.
    - The account is available to new and existing Virgin Money current account customers
    - Withdrawals permitted
    - The account can be opened online or in branch.
    - The account matures on the 29/05/2026.

It appears that you can only hold one issue of the Regular Saver Exclusive account (there is an eligibility checker on the VM webpage) that states this:
    • You can only have one Regular Saver Exclusive opened in your name at any time
Therefore, if you already have issue 1 of this regular saver, then you're not eligible to open issue 2 as well.

I’m looking to take a new mortgage out shortly so don’t want to have any new footprints on my credit report - would anybody know if there’s a Virgin Money account I could open which would allow me to access this new RS which wouldn’t require a credit check?

Thanks in advance if anybody knows!

I doubt there are any - the RS account requires a Virgin Money current account and even on their most basic current account, it says...

If you apply for our standard account - the M Plus Account - or one of our other accounts, we’ll check your credit file to see if it’s right for you. If we can’t offer you one of these, we’ll see if you’d like the M Account instead.

There’ll be a footprint (a record of the search, in case you were wondering) on your credit file so other providers, like banks and building societies, can see that you’ve applied for an account.

Virgin RS - Like many, I have the one paying 10%. It just says ‘Regular Saver’ including on the statements. How do I know if it’s classed as ‘Exclusive’ and has anyone confirmed you can’t open the new one alongside the other?

Looks like new owner Nationwide is not upholding the tradition of Virgin Regular Savers which allowed you to have one of each issue. People used to go down to the branch about every 6 weeks to open another 3% regular saver. The new account won't be of any interest for those with the 10% RS unless it is still available in August.

Read the previous couple of pages.

The 10% saver was/is described as an "Exclusive" in the email confirming its opening.

Yes it's been confirmed (by me and others) that you can't have both.

Nationwide Flex Regular Saver Issue 3

Has anyone had any problems funding this today?

It looks like my scheduled standing order payment was returned to the funding account for some reason..

Manuel transfer to current account and internal transfer. No issues at all.

Mine was fine, although I did a manual payment not a standing order. I wonder if for some reason your payment was dated yesterday so Nationwide thought you'd deposited too much in one calendar month?
