Update for week 43. Clocks have changed, temperature dropping so perfect excuse to catch up on B&W films. Had a tot of whisky while watching 1984. Went to see Mrs Warren's profession (excellent), a trip to the library and another recipe from my pasta book, a day of walking, a fascinating lecture as part of Black History month. oh and 2 types of origami bird. Which takes me up to 418

Hi you lovely lot,
Firstly, I totally missed September! Not intentionally, I promise! Life just sort of… lifed. Between work, real-life chaos, and trying to convince myself that “reorganising the spice rack” counts as mindfulness, the month vanished.
So here we are, October! Once again I feel the year slipping by in a flash. Catching up on everyone’s comments, I’m seeing lots of people saying they’re behind and I’m joining the club! But as I said since the very beginning when I started this challenge, it's progress, not perfection. There’s no way I’d have done 90% of what I’ve managed this year without it.
Even if I haven’t started some things yet (looking at you, journal prompts) or absolutely smashed others I never thought I would (hello, selling and savings goals!), this challenge always leaves me in a better position at the end of the year than when I started. So yes, I’m already thinking about 2026 and what needs to go, stay, or be added!
Here’s how things are looking as we creep towards the final stretch of 2025:
🚂 Chugging Along Nicely (or at least moving in the right direction!)👥 Do Things with Family/Friends – 20/25 – ticking along nicely.🧘 Mindfulness (25 mins/week) – 44/52 – still on track and keeping me sane.🪡 Complete 25 Hobbies That Make Me Happy – 14/25 – lots of Lego and I finally managed to get the cross-stitch back out and a piece completed. Granted these we're all done as a way to avoid the to-do list, but it still counts!📝 Master To-Do List – 13/25 – finally went through it and realised I’d actually done loads but never ticked them off. Still plenty left, obviously!🧹 Deep Clean / Declutter 25 Areas – 11/25 – slow progress, but every cupboard cleared feels like therapy so I just need to carve out time for this.🥫 Food Bank Donations – 22/25 – 8 in October, all toiletries this time as that’s what’s most needed according to the list on the website. I'm so pleased they've started posting this every month so I know what to pick up.🍀 Competitions – 10/12 – still entering, still waiting on a “you’ve won!” email to roll in, as I've not had anything for a while.👟 10,000 Step Days – 13/25 – +2 in October! Hip’s still giving me grief, but I’m moving (even if it’s more hobble than hustle).🧠 Learn/Do New Things – 11/25 – still finding ways to keep learning and trying new bits.🎥 Films – 11/25 – honestly, I’ll binge 4 hours of a random series but can’t commit to one film. What is that about?!🎁 Treat Myself – 24/25 – very nearly done, but I'm still feeling guilty when I do so perhaps I need to look at why this is!
👀 Needs More Focus (aka “procrastination central”)✍️ Journal Prompts – 0/25 – still scared of my own thoughts. 😅🎉 Celebrate 25 Things – 7/25 – this one’s been tough; I had such good intentions but it’ll definitely roll over into 2026 with a proper plan next time!📦 Get Rid of 25 Loft/Garage Items – 9/25 – love how good it feels when I do it, just need to actually do it. Baby steps.🗺️ Family Adventures / Days Out – 7/25 – slow and steady, but with two teenage girls, with so many activities and the teenage response of "urgh no!" when I suggest something has made this one a challenge to say the least!🎲 Play 25 Games – 7/25 – nothing in October, but we’ve got a games day planned for next weekend with friends so this should get a boost!💸 Budgeting / Planning (25 mins/week) – 40/52 – big catch-up in September but slipped again since, so that’ll need another burst soon.📸 Photo Organising – 9/52 – I’m so far behind, so need to have a big catch-up!
👑 Already Completed (but still going strong)🎧 Listen to 25 Albums – 26/25⚖️ Lose 25lbs – technically back to 25/25 after a few sneaky lbs found their way back on (must’ve been the biscuits).📚 Read 25 Books – 32/25 – my pre-bed reading habit is going strong and it’s an easy win every year.💷 Save £2025 in 2025 – £3,889.47/£2,025 – another £211.25 in October from selling bits and doing surveys. Still can’t believe this total!🛍️ Sell 25 Things – 68/25 – smashing it, but I probably need to accept some things will never sell and just donate them (at least it'll help with the get rid of things from loft / garage challenge!)📺 Watch 25 Documentaries – 34/25 – still going strong; always good to have a few easy wins on the list!
So, that’s October wrapped up! It’s been a mix of ticking boxes and then sidestepping the to-do list. Here’s hoping November brings a bit more focus (and fewer snacks disguised as “autumn comfort food”).
Hope you’re all doing okay and finding your own little wins wherever you can. Big hugs 💖You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same3 -

I'm still chugging along with this list, I've accepted some things just won't be completed or even added to - I've lost cmplete interest in reading, which annoys me in a way as I'm a huge book lover and always reading something. This pasy few months I haven't even looked at a book. Hopefully I can gee myself on and get reading again.
I've a few health problems arisen including High blood pressure so focusing more on that ATM and trying to find ways to bring it back to normal. I'm pretty sure it's due to being slightly depressed and defintley stress 100%
So from this week I'm changing lifestyle, taking care of myself more and cutting back on some things. And I'm hoping with these changes, it will change my mindset and hopefully get a few more things ticked off that list above.
I have started making a list for 2026 though.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%3 -
Sounds like you totally need to be focusing on you @IrishRose12 and cutting back on the non essentials to get back to full strength 💕You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same4
