25 for 2025

It's that time again, as we face the end of one year and embark on a new. So if you're up for a challenge, feel free to join in.

You'll know how this goes if you've done any of the previous years, but for newbies the idea is you have a list of 25 goals that you do 25 times during the year or just a list of 25 goals to hit in 2025. Each one can be big or small, fun or serious, and the idea is something you can try and achieve throughout 2025 (I've yet to complete the full list any year, but hey it's progress not perfection!). The whole idea is it's fun and you (hopefully) reach the end of the year in a better position than when you started.

Original posts if you're looking for inspiration: 20 20s for 202021 things, 21 times in 20212022 New Year's Resolutions Thread23 for 2023 & 24 for 2024.

To join, post your list and remember to come back as much as you like to update your progress.

So whilst I procrastinate over my 24 for 2024! these are my current ideas for my list:

My curernt 25 for 25!

  1. Answer 25 journal prompts of self-discovery and awareness (I need a HUGE kick with this one as I've failed miserably in 23 & 24!)
  2. Complete 25 things off the master to-do list
  3. Deep Clean / Declutter 25 areas around the house
  4. Do 25 things with family and friends
  5. 25 Donations to charity
  6. Enter an average of 25 competitions per day
  7. Go for 25 walks or bike rides over 30 mins
  8. Have 25 fun family adventures / day's out etc.
  9. Learn 25 new words
  10. Listen to 25 new albums
  11. Lose 25lbs
  12. Read 25 Books
  13. Save £2025 over the year
  14. Sell 25 things on ebay / booty sites
  15. Spend 25 mins each week organising photos
  16. Treat / do something for me 25 times
  17. Watch 25 new to-me films / documentaries
  18. Complete 25 hobbies that make me happy
  19. Spend 25 mins each week budgeting / planning
  20. Complete 25 days a month of my Bujo
  21. TBC
  22. TBC
  23. TBC
  24. TBC
For me, most are repeats of previous years but lowered my expectations on some, and removed others I absolutely hated doing, but these may change as I see other ideas come in 😂 so who's up for this year's challenge?

25 is a bit much for me, but I think I will try to cook 25 times this year. I usually cook once every couple of months (max), so this will be a big change!

A month with 25 NSDs is a tough call, but January might be the time to do it!

If you only cook 25 times a year, what do you eat everyday?  Genuine question.

Anything that lives in the pantry / fridge / countertop.

When I do cook, it tends to be in bulk. Last week I made some 1600ml of soup, half went in the freezer and of the remaining 800ml there is still some in an airtight container in the fridge. I'm not a big eater and one meal a day does me, as long as I can drink tea and coffee to my hearts content.

  • couple of tweaks from me. I'm an avid reader but thinking 25 translated books as AND 25 children's books might be a bit much on top of my usual reading. Also my feet are in need of some tlc. So am replacing children's books with 25 foot soaks - I have found an mse recipe of course  and also realising 25 different sports is ambitious - will save that for next Olympics (when it'll be 28). I'm very keen to get back to playing the piano so have replaced sports with 25 mins 25 times a month. Now I just have to work out a way of easily counting that!
Your post made me realise, 2025 is the ideal year to kick off the Pomodoro Technique
