end of week 13 which is a quarter of the year through. how did that happen?! half way through a workout programme, lots more piano, another 11 things decluttered (must step up on that one!), 2 days I managed over 25K steps, went to the DSO, celebrated mother's day, entered two competitions, cooked another egg dish (Mexican), had another type of fish (Plaice), finished another translation (the owl always hunts at night), went for another run, another 'simple things' (matinee concert), another black and white film (Marriage on BBC3), another lovely foot soak and two trips to the library which means my running total is...

March Update...It's a long one sorry but I need to ramble away to myself to get things clear in my head...

1/4 of the way through the year and this challenge. Some of my goals are nowhere near 1/4 complete so I've had a good think about what I'm trying to achieve and how I can do that...

    1. Read 25 books (1/25) - It took me 3 months to read one book as I'm terribly slow at reading but even if I don't hit the target I'm still enjoying reading so that's the main thing.
    2. Make 25 crafts (1/25) - Same as above really, it took me 3 months to complete a cross stitch. I also find it difficult to start new tasks so a lot of time can pass between finishing one thing and starting another.
    3. Explore 25 villages / towns / cities I've never been to (3/25) - The nicer weather will make this one easier
    4. Go to Slimming World 25 times (13/25) - I'm so pleased I put this one on here as I have been every week since the start of the year.
    5. Walk 2025km (549.34/2025) - On track! I know it's not much but it's more than I've been doing in the past
    6. Buy 25 gift cads for Christmas (14/25) - This one is going well. I'm saving them to spend at Christmas as it really does take the pressure off.
    7. Save £2025 (£782.14 / £2025) - Delighted with this one!
    8. Try 25 new recipes (3/25) - Need to make more time for this
    9. Lose 25lbs (7.5/25) - Not going as well as I would have liked however if I maintain this speed I will hit the goal by the end of the year
    10. Create 25 (positive!) habits (3/25) - I've now set up a habit tracker to monitor the things I want to achieve for this one. If I do the habit for 25 days in a month then I'll add it here
    11. 25 outings / experiences with DH (4/25) - The nicer weather will help get us out the house and actually doing things
    12. 25 things that make me look / feel better about myself (5/25) This one isn't really working out as I don't really know what I want to include here so I'm taking it out entirely and replacing with '250 new experiences / outings / activities with kids at work'.  I work in a children's home with 8 kids and spend 37 hours a week with them so although this sounds like a lot it isn't really.
    13. 25 different training courses / books relevant to my job (1/25) I'm finding this one a bit difficult to know what I want to include so I'm changing it up a bit to 'Spend 250 hours on continuous professional development'. This is a lot but I love my job and enjoy reading / doing training courses relevant to it so this won't be too difficult to complete. Even if I am starting from scratch now.
    14. Try 25 restaurants / cafes (12/25) - Eating out is my favourite hobby so no issues with this one!
    15. 25 solo days out (5/25) - I tend to think of things to do then talk myself out of them. Maybe I should work on that.
    16. Post 2025 photos on Instagram (128/2025) - I love looking back at photos and remembering little details. Especially really simple things like photos from walks or just about my general day to day stuff. I need to make much more of an effort to add them onto Instagram though as a way of keeping them in a safe place but not using all my phone storage.
    17. Watch 25 movies I've never seen (10/25) - Really enjoying this one
    18. Tick 25 things off my master to do list (3/25) - I am a terrible procrastinator so a lot of this is still a work in progress. It's all things I want to get done like 'finish decorating the bathroom' but keeping putting off. Must make more time.
    19. Listen to 25 audiobooks (3/25) - Same issue here as above where I finish a book then mess about for ages before I start another one.
    20. Walk along 25 different beaches (4/25) - Will be much easier now it's better weather
    21. Be able to run for 25 minutes (2/25) - I really must plan my weeks better and incorporate time to go to the gym and get on the treadmill. If I achieve this by the end of the year I will be so proud of myself but I need to really get going with it now.
    22. Tick 25 things off my bucket list (1/25) - I really want more experiences and 'I can't believe I just did that' moments but I always seem to talk myself out of things....
    23. Try 25 foods I've never had before (10/25) - Loving this one!
    24. Watch 25 documentaries (6/25) - I have now made a list of ones I want to watch
    25. Save 25 of each coin / note (£1 to £20) - (7/£1, 7/£2, 7/£5, 7/£10, 4/£20) - This one is going well and I'm already looking forward to spending it all!

I hope everyone is still loving this challenge as much as I am!

Sorry all for the radio silence, we were away at the end of Feb into March and in all honesty things have been manic since not helped that I'm without a car at the moment and stressing as to if it'll be fixed in time for our Easter break. Need to put a rocket under the garage and insurance company.

@DundeeDoll - Just wanted to pass on my thoughts re your dog  ❤️

@thechubbyunicorn - I get what you're saying re some of the goals being nowhere near 1/4 complete. When I first started this back in 2020, I used to stress a lot about falling behind etc. Then I started to look at it another way. I have accepted there's no way I'm going to complete all 25 of my goals, BUT I know without this challenge I wouldn't complete any of them if that makes sense. So please give yourself a break (especially with the cross stitch as I'm the same, I love doing it but I'm not going to rush or stress just because I choose to do a bigger one or am slower etc.).
Let's just look at some of the things you HAVE achieved in the first quarter, You've walked 549.4km! To put that into perspective, you've walked the full length of the track of the London Underground 1.37 times!!! (Now download a pic of the underground map and pop it on Insta to remind yourself just how awesome you are and that's another pic for that goal). You currently have saved £782.14 that you may not have, you've tried 12 new places to eat and eaten 10 things you've never eaten previously. That's just some of your achievements for quarter 1! I would say you're doing exceptionally well 🏆

Loved playing catchup on everyone's achievements this morning, everyone seems to be off to a great start.
As for me, I know I need to focus on some of the ones I'm avoiding especially as we're having major work done on and in the house and we've just had the start date as the beginning of June, so plenty I need to do to make sure we're ready.

    My scores on the doors:
    • Answer 25 journal prompts of self-discovery and awareness - 0/25
    • Celebrate 25 things e.g. National / Awareness Days etc. - 3/25
    • Complete 25 hobbies that make me happy - 2/25
    • Complete 25 things off the master to-do list - 2/25 - Reading back reminded me I've not redone my master do-do list as some things aren't needed any more so that's a job for this weekend!
    • Deep Clean / Declutter 25 areas around the house - 2/25 - Need to get cracking with this one ready for the work
    • Do 25 things with family and friends - 5/25
    • 25 Donations to charity - 6/25 - Hoping to boost this, this month as I already have a load of bags ready to go and hopefully more to come! Seriously when and more importantly why did we buy all this stuff!!!!
    • 25 Donations to food bank - 1/25 - Need to just get a move on with this
    • Enter an average of 25 competitions per day - 3/12 - Still loving this and came back to a nice prize after our hols of some Bluetooth speakers that I'm going to take with us at Easter for my Aunt.
    • Get rid of 25 items from loft/garage - 0/25
    • Have 25 fun family adventures / day's out etc. - 3/25
    • Learn / Do 25 new things - 3/25 - Had some amazing experiences when we were away including stroking a penguin!!!
    • Listen to 25 new to me albums - 5/25
    • Lose 25lbs - 16/25 - Go fab with this one, still have a long way to go for my ultimate goal, but need to remind myself that I've lost 4st so far and I need to just keep at it slowly but surely.
    • Play 25 Games - 0/25
    • Practice 25 mins of mindfulness each week - 14/52
    • Read 25 Books - 7/25
    • Save £2025 over the year - £1,714.38 / £2025 - Amazing progress with this one, I need to keep motivated on the selling to boost this more.
    • Sell 25 things on ebay / booty sites - 11/25
    • Spend 25 mins each week budgeting / planning - 14/52
    • Spend 25 mins each week organising photos - 5/52 - Fallen behind on this one so I need to have a long catch up session
    • Treat / do something for me 25 times - 17/25 - Managed to pick up a load of cross stitch supplies in the states so this ticked a large number off my list.
    • Walk 10,000 25 times - 10/25 - Finally getting into a pattern with this one, just need to keep it up now.
    • Watch 25 new to-me documentaries - 12/25 - This is always an easy one for me as I love them so much
    • Watch 25 new to-me films 3/25
Main goal for April is to change all of the zero's to at least 1's!  Have a good month all :-)
