There's only one lake in the Lake District - Bassenthwaite - so your options are quite limited.....

That’s the actual one that made me want a Lakeside cottage!! But I ain’t up for paying those type of prices, unfortunately! Would be super grateful for more suggestions should you have them please? Thank you🙏

Quick Google search found this, hoseasons will have lakeside (ish) cabins, but I'd imagine you'd be paying a premium for any private lakeside cottage

Strawb is right however- you generally pay a bit of a premium for a lakeside location. If camping/motor homing is your bag there's a campsite right on the shores of Ullswater (just outside Pooley Bridge, off the Howtown road).
