Worth switching phone off at night..?

If you turn it right off you're going to use a surge to get it to load up, wake up and come to of a morning.I no longer have anyone who will call me in an emergency. Only the bright and early risers which I am not so I turn the volume off and put it face down.I can still make calls out if it's me who has the emergency.It's very old and uses very little battery when not being used.

Modern phones are meant to be left turned on. They have a Do not disturb option that can/should be set when not awake.0

I have heard that it can actually do your phone some good to be switched off completely, at least on an occasional basis.
Over and above that, I'm simply looking to extend the periods between chargings, a process which I find annoying - my phone is beginning to own ME rather than the correct way round...0 -

Just charge up to 80% or whatever you want , in the morning while you are getting ready for the day.0 -
