Worth switching phone off at night..?

Options
My phone's charge level doesn't seem to go down much when on my bedside table overnight. Anyone think it's worth switching off completely for eight hours in every twenty-four?

My phone backs up Whatsapp overnight so you wouldn't get that happening

It depends on what your phone is for, making calls or being available for someone to call you

Have you friends or relatives that might need you in a hurry

use battery saver mode, so only a call will come thru..........saves the battery even more

Nearly all phones now have a focus/sleep/do not disturb mode for use over night. This only allows the calls and notifications you select to come through.

Phones do their housekeeping tasks overnight and  their backups, so it’s not a good idea to power them off.

To look after the battery it’s best not to let it get too flat, so a charge to 80% every morning is a good way to keep the battery and phone in good shape.

exactly - calls from my offsprings' numbers will come through the night time silent period of my phone - no land line these days so the only way they can make contact in an emergency

Then you won't get Govt. Emergency Broadcasts for the 3-minute warning!
  • Just to point out that I have a landline too.

A friend of mine asked me about this and my reply  was "do you turn your fridge off at night?"!

Switching off for what reason?  To avoid getting calls?   To save electricity?

Far more reasons to not switch it off than there are to do so.
