Oh ok thank you. The Scottish power...power tracker one during the week then would the cost per kw just be what the standard price is then. If it is that sounds like it could be better. As the cheap rate is in a reasonable time where we could do all washing and dryer use.masonic said:mark25810 said:
I did check the scottish power ones but seemed like you would have to mess about too much using electric certain times to try save etc and we just want to use what we use when we want.masonic said:
It really depends on your usage, but options like Scottishpower's Power Saver, or if you're brave, Tomato Energy's Lifestyle tariff could be worth exploring.mark25810 said:
Ive looked at other options and all turn out more expensive than even octobers tariff. More so when i check it on the compare appmasonic said:I very much doubt there will be much difference between Oct 24 and Jan 25, but the decision is easier for me as Oct 24 looks too expensive compared to other options.
When octopus does those events when you can save if you don't use certain amounts of electric between certain times....we either saved oennies or nothing because if we need to do washing and use the cooker we need to 😂
I checked the tomato one but while they claim good reviews all the bad ones state once you join....they never answer calls again lol.
Plus for some reason they state what could be a monthly price but no other details or price per kw or anything that i could find it just said to sign upFor Scottishpower, you can be on the standard tariff, sign up for Power Saver, and that gets you half price energy every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm. That's more often than Tracker will drop near those levels, and is dependable. With the new Tracker tariffs coming in only about 5% below SVT, if you use a reasonable amount of energy at the weekend then you'd save. For Tomato, there are issues for sure, but I'm monitoring the thread on here and experiences are getting better. By mid-Feb I might just be convinced enough to give them a try. They give unit rates if you get a quote.
Saying that maybe not because as i type this i realised i need to charge my car for work. I can only use a 3pin socket and so takes ages to charge so if i only charged at the weekend say the sunday....i will actually still need to charge another 2 times in the week so that may actually get rid of the savings made at the weekend.
Oh i get so stressed about it all 😂0 -
That situation potentially brings Economy 7 tariffs into play...

Can be on Cap Tracker with no exit fees meaning standing charges are at worst = to Octopus tariffs, refer a friend incentive also available switching to Scottish Power pays out after about 29 days.masonic said:mark25810 said:

Gas Tracker October Version last 7 and 30 days more expensive than fixed.mark25810 said:
Fixed ones are way more expensive than even octobers tracker though when ive checkedpete-20-11 said:Don't do it. Stick to the current tracker.
Or maybe lock in a fix which will start after the tracker ends.
When checked against a weeks usage the oct tracker comes out over £10 a week cheaper than the 12th month fixed
Electricity Tracker October Version last 7 days cheaper than fixed due to the recent very expensive days being outside 7 day period, recent very windy days being within - last 30 days fixed cheaper than Tracker - other suppliers typically cheaper than Octopus for Electricity fixed.

You can exit the fix early with no charge. So it protects you from price rises, should that happen, but doesn't lock you in.mark25810 said:
