Hi all,
Ive decided to buy an air fryer. Im overwhelmed by choices!!
I usually cook steamed salmon/veg; chicken/veg etc, so presume I can do all that in an air fryer. I cook mostly just for me, but often have family come over, so will need an appropriate sized one.
Ninja seem like they have the best reputation.
Any advice/comments would be gratefully received!
Thanks

If you don't mind buying second hand, there usually seem to be a few on Facebook marketplace. Then you could see what features you like or don't like, with a view to upgrading over time.0

B&M has Tower brand at 29.99.Might not be any good but at that price ok to try out and brand new.0

don't buy one that sends all your conversations to China

I have a simple manual dial control philips from 2015. Still workings.
Personally would go for dual basket if your family visit a lot. The larger basket should fit a chicken

If it is only for yourself, I would opt for simple air fryer with manual control. It is less likely to broken when compare to digital one?
These looks good value for money.

Practical advice:Don't pay over the top for a trending brand name - equally don't pay too little for a piece of junk - as with anything the mid-market is usually best value. For an air fryer always buy a size up from what you think you will need.Because once you start using it you quickly realise just how much you can use it for and that a bit more capacity would be useful.Also- rather than a dual basket consider getting two singles - it can cost less, and you can keep one in the cupboard to bring out when wanted/needed0

The most useful feature I've found is a light inside and a viewing window so you can see the food cooking. Mine's a Tower Vizion but there are similar models available.0

I'd get something quite low cost, they only need the simplest controls of temp and timer. Plus they get horribly greasy so you probably won't keep it for more than a couple of years.0

Thanks so much for all your advice/suggestion! (love this forum!).
I will probably do as suggested in some of the posts: buy one of Marketplace/cheap on from B&M and try it before buying an expensive one.
If theyre as good as some people are saying, then £200+ for a decent quality one is good value!0 -
Also, presumably there will be the January sales, when companies are wanting to shift the 'old' 2024 models. So perhaps Ill grab a bargain then.0

For that sort of money I'd be looking at a combination microwave/oven/grill, which does everything an air fryer can and more!2
