    You didnt sound insensitive hun.

I had a choice if you remember - go back to a job that I hated, was destroying us as a family or get out and get summink else, with less pay. I chose the second option, and am happier than I've been for many years.

So what if our DFD is years away, at least I now get to spend quality time with my kids.

And yes, we've got a lovely house, with only a smallish mortgage. I consider us very lucky :D

    Right OK! Re-focused. :)

My early target of being clear of credit card debt isn't affected. So if I can find an extra £450 this month and next, that'll all be clear by the end of Feb which was my target.

That will also be 2 months ahead of what the new snowball calculator says and will knock a month off my debt free date!

Hi SS, I read your diary most days and although I don't msg much I thought I was going to have to get vocal & kick your yellow butt - You've done fan-bl00dy-tastic in getting your debt reduced as much as you have already. So I'm glad you've focused yourself.

I'm the same that I'm hoping to get rid of my debt this year (also with a little help from MB) but I doubt I will able to (I'm getting married in May, so money I was using to pay off debt is having to go on that). It pee'd me right off until I realised I've done pretty well so far and am a lot better off than I was this time last year. For starters I know how much I'm in debt where as 18 months ago I was happy sweeping it all under the carpet.

    Good luck for 2008 xxx

Right I missed all this tonight so have just read back to figure out whats going on .... seems pretty clear to me SS, it shows how far you've come .. . at the beginning of your debt-free journey the amount seemed so big whereas now, you are so close to getting rid of it all that the exact detail matters and you are strong enouh to chuck in the extra even though it looks as though it sets your dfd back a bit we all know it won't really ;)

2008 will still be your year hun, may take a bit more work than you reckoned on but it will make it all the sweeter in the end ;):D
