Don't lose faith, you now have a better idea of what you want and what you can get, did you find them yourslef or with a letting agent?

Nah was through a letting agent!

There is one I like the look of that I'm waiting for an appointment for. But looked at the place from the outside and am now unsure about it! :rotfl:

Oh and now he is fussy - at this rate the parents will still have the pleasure of your company well into the summer.

What did you like about the one you are waiting for an appt for and why are you not sure any more???

Did the LAs suggest them or did you find them and then contact the LAs about the ones you wanted to see??

The longer you stay at mum and dad's the more the debt goes down though. are you very fussy or is the market just a bit slow?

    I contacted them for viewings.

I don't really know why I don't like the one I did. Inside I think it will be perfect. But outside, there are a couple of shops, like a mini supermarket and florist. I just didn't exepect them to be there. They look out of place! :undecided

Hard to explain really. Just didn't look how I imagined it!

    Bit of both! :p

No one was rotten. Wouldn't stay there if you paid me.

One was OK. Bit further out than I wanted and ground floor which I didn't want. Oh and that was furnished so out the question anyway.

The one I liked is on for £50 a month more than my top limit but they are negotiating with the landlord. But, I'm not sure it warrants the money. Front room isn't that big. But it is really nice. Can't fault the decor or kitchen/bathroom.

Hmmm, I got mine by choosing it through rightmove and then getting in touch. Mind you as I haven't moved in yet I may have got a complete turkey.

I think you should check out the one you are talking about and look at the supermarket and florist as convenient rather than problematic. Post a photo of the outside and we'll give you an honest appraisal (or post the link tot the rightmove page) - or is that weird stalker. I don't think I thought that through.

On another note, the Viners saucepans that are your fault - my neighbour came round tonight and he had told the courier I didn't live here because he got confused - ho hum, good job I had got in touch and had them redirected to work, although lugging 5 pans with lids home on the train will be fun.

Haven't got a pic of the outside that shows it sadly.

Might take someone with me for a second opinion!

That is a good plan, also taking a list of things you want to chack, a starter for ten

    1)are there enough plug sockets
    2)is there an external aerial
3)does the loo have a decent flush
4)does the shower have decent power
    5)what are the windows like
6)is there enough storage for you (and your stuff)
7)do the neighbours look half decent (not failsafe but better than nowt - if there is music blaring when you visit and a couple screeching they may not confine it to when the letting agent is doing show and tell)
8)what council tax band is it

ooh probably a million of other things.

If you take a second person then while you are getting excited about period features they are checking out the condensation running down the window
