Hi everyone,
We went to Waitrose this morning because I rate their puddings. I also wanted a big salmon side for Christmas Eve and cold leftovers. We're having gammon tonight so we'll have that to cut at the next few days as well.
We got home from the Wirral mid afternoon and took advantage of the family being out to wrap the children's presents so that's a weight off my mind. We ended up not wrapping some because I'd done the grandma thing of buying too much.
Have a good day.10 -
Just popped back to say thank you to all the good wishes for little one...she's so excited to go on the Polar Express train tomorrow, they're staying overnight in Edinburgh afterwards 'and then granny Santa will be on his way!' It's so lovely when they believe - hopefully she will for a good few years yet.
I've been along to Homebase after mam and dads to get paint for little ones' room here, there wasn't much left but I got a nice pale pink. They're closing early in the New Year - 2 cactuses might have also jumped in my basket, but at 70% off it would have been wrong not to buy them!
Right, I really need to get upstairs sorted x11 -
Thank you all for your good wishes for DMum. She seems fine with no lasting ill effects. Apparently I worry /panic too much

Good afternoon
Wow, what strange weather we have today. One minute it's as dark as night and raining, the next it's brilliant sunshine and blue skies. Still windy too.
Been busy this morning sorting out the overflow cupboard. I had got big dog 2 boxes of his favourite gravy bones and when clearing out found 2 more, so that's him well sorted into the new year. Talking of big dog, we bought him a new coat to keep him warm and dry, but he's terrified of it. Putting it on is a performance, you get one leg in and then he's taken it out while you're doing the other leg, think he's doing the hokey cokey!
SO, sending love and hugs to you. My DS doesn't have any contact with us and I always feel it this time of year, especially as my birthdays just after Christmas.
Beef stew and dumplings tonight, just right for this weather, we'll be having a roast Wednesday after all.
Love and hugs to everyone, sorry I can't remember what I've read, but thinking of the poorly and sad.10 -
I don't know which is worse - a child who never contacts you at all or one who only does so when they want something - usually money. I have the latter and, whilst I wouldn't cut off contact with her, I have closed Mum's Bank. Which she doesn't like. I'm not sure which part of the word No she doesn't understand or that it would be nice to have a conversation that doesn't entail "borrowing" money. I say "borrow" because it never finds its way back. Such is life.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11
