Good morning sll. It's been a dreadful night, the winds roared and, by the sound of it, hailstones bounced off the windows endlessly. May have been icy rain. I'll be back.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. A blowy night here too and at one point it was sleeting. I was dreading snow following in its wake, but it didn't!
I am currently making hay whilst the sun shines (hah if only!) and sitting here with a much needed colour on my hair! I wilt as the day goes on so I am taking ad vantage of another early rising. I am still battling weariness and falling asleep numerous times in the day. Then getting up whilst most folk are going to bed!
I have decided to join DS in the sm chaos this morning, though I need very little. Nothing to do with being a martyr I am going stir crazy stuck in the house. It's only some f & v so won't need much fighting for I hope! If that doesn't knock me out I must do a much needed clean of the kitchen later.
SILVER OLDIE it's hard enough facing Christmas without a much loved DH but without the support of your family it must be doubly hard. I didn't know how I was going to get through it but with the support of my family I did, My heart really does go out to you. They say Christmas can be the loneliest time of the year and that is so true for a lot of people. Much love to you x
Time to rinse my colour off so bye bye white roots till next time. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, stressed or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Aaaaargh I spoke too soon. Just looked out to find a covering of snow and it's still falling. This wasn't on the forecast, it's supposed to be raining!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14

Thanks for the start Gers
TA - I woke to a smattering of snow which was a total surprise - it’s raining now so won’t come to much,
Not a great night - there was a crash last night and DMum managed to fall into the bath, fortunately empty! Bashed her head on the side of the bath so took a while to get her out and patch her up. She finished with a dressing held on with bright red vet-wrap which is great stretchy bandage (designed for animals!) that sticks to itself but not hair/fur. Looked a sight but hopefully did the job. Hopefully it'll look ok and no intervention needed - it stopped bleeding quickly and was more like a bad abrasion mostly. It meant that I didn’t sleep much for worrying and overthinking that and consequences etc.
This evening should be our local ‘tractor run’ - it was amazing last year with nearly 200 decorated vehicles, and they raised £20K for charity. The high winds might make it more challenging but we’ll hopefully take the car and park on the route.Take care all especially those with poor weather

@TA - perhaps it'll not linger, fingers are crossed for you. @AA - what a horror for you and DMum! You do best to keep an eye on her.Yesterday, as predicted, was a sit-back-and-watch-the-wind-blow day. The poor postie was almost blown away when walking from her van to my front door, she's such a tiny wee thing. She brought a very small parcel from my SIL in Oz, according to the customs label it's a pair of socks.
I ate half of the yesterday lasagna with a pile of veggies, I hadn't had it for months so it went down well.
I stayed in bed a little longer this morning as I was listening to a fascinating radio programme about the positive effects of music, beats and rhythm on the brain, especially for Parkinson's suffers and autistic people. I've sent it onto two friends, one a retired music teacher and the other a much younger man who does a lot of sound baths around the area. Interestingly (for me at least) he moved from being a D&B lover to gentler sounds.Anyway, told maybe a rinse and repeat of Saturday. My abandoned plans are back on the plate though may well get shelved again once I can see outside. The solstice went almost unnoticed here as everything was dark and dismal - roll on the light.I hope all those who are not looking forward to Christmas - and that includes me - are holding up. Bad things always seem worse when all those around us are celebrating and having a great time. Hugs all round to those who are having their first Christmas 'without'.12 -
Good morning, I've just lost a post by grabbing at my tablet to stop it slithering off my lap grrr.
Sorry to read that your mum has had a fall Allie, hope she'll soon feel better.
Good luck in the supermarket TA. I went yesterday and it was heaving - I bought a few veg, but I just wanted out of the place and came home. I'll have to nerve myself and go today.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks13 -

Morning everyone
Sorry I missed yesterday as I had little one for a sleepover on Friday. Thanks everyone for the good wishes re getting LCWRA - it feels good to be believed after my negative experience with PIP.
DD came up and gave my bedroom a 2nd coat of paint yesterday morning, it's a lovely shade of yellow and has really brightened the room up. The bathroom will wait until after Christmas.
Had a lovely play with little one on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and read lots of Christmas books with her. She was full of chat as usual and is beyond excited - DD is taking her to go on the Polar Express in Edinburgh on Monday and they are staying overnight, then Christmas...she is fit to burst! Just hoping she manages this week without being poorly.
Right best get on - I'm going down to sit with dad this morning while mam goes to church then plan to go along to Homebase while it's still open to get some paint ready for little ones' bedroom here.
This afternoon I'll start getting my room sorted and still have eldest DD's presents to wrap, but I have till Christmas Eve. I've written myself a list of jobs for the next couple of days.
It's so windy here this morning as it was all day yesterday, town was very quiet when I went in to collect my prescription yesterday afternoon.
Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
