Company sent out a duplicate order after initial parcel went missing - now both have turned up

    I had a similar situation where the retailer sent the item twice.  I informed them and they said to keep both as the time and cost involved in getting the duplicate back wasn't worth it.  That item was of similar value to that described by the OP. 
    Keeping the duplicate and not informing the vendor is theft.

    My husband ordered some earrings  for my birthday from QVC.  They hadn’t turned up by my birthday so they sent another pair and refunded his money “for my disappointment”.  Not many companies would do that.  :). After nearly 2 weeks a neighbour turned up with the earrings.  They’d been put through her letterbox while she was on holiday.  My husband contacted QVC who told him to keep them with their complements.  That turned out to be a nice birthday, 2 free pairs of pretty earrings.  They weren’t wildly expensive, about £50 and I expect if they’d been platinum and “real” diamonds we would have had to send them back.  Is that a bit cynical.  :D
