Ebay Collection Only But No Address

Bought a collection only item and the seller hasn’t provided an address to collect from, just a location/region and 6 digit code.
I’ve requested a pick up address via message with no response.
I’ve asked eBay to help via a INR case and buyer just responded with ‘You need to collect the item”
I am missing something here? How do I get the collection address?

I had a similar problem from a seller who had only sold a very few items.  I guessed that ebay's system was blocking the address in a misguided attempt to stop selling out of ebay and we did eventually succeed! I got the impression a message with the address could only get through when it was sent through one particular link associated with the purchase or in reply to a message sent through that link and not other contact seller/buyer options.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

  • Thanks for the reply, glad to hear your experience worked out. It’s the first time I’ve bought collection only item and I don’t understand if the collection address should be sent with the purchase confirmation or how it works, I don’t know if the seller is being difficult or just assumes I have the address.
How is the pick up address usually communicated?

Have you paid for the item?
eBay wont allow contact details to be exchanged until payment is made via eBay checkout
  • Are you trying to arrange cash on collection? Ebay no longer allow this and are probably withholding the address until you pay via their platform.

As above you should get the address once the item has been paid for via managed payments. If you have paid then phone ebay and explain the problem.

I never get addresses, always ask through messages - as you also need to know time and a day for the person to be there. No point showing up on Monday at 2pm as they may be at work..

Also some people have one address set up but they're actually have item in another location - like office etc.

    Message them.

Just bought my first collection item in a long time.  Didn't even know it asked for payment when I made an offer but that
was not a problem.  Offer accepted and payment done automatically. I sent several messages and got short answers
that made me think maybe English was not their main language.

After several messages I finally got the postcode and house number but replies to which day just giving me times and
not confirming the day.  I think Ebay need something so that buyers and sellers can choose collection times and make
    the process easier.

I had someone purchase a collection item last week and he didn't get my address automatically, even though he paid immediately. He messaged me asking for the information and to arrange a time for collection.

I can't believe that the seller in the OP hasn't responded to their message.

OP, did you put in the case you opened that you don't have the collection address, nor will the seller arrange a collection time?

For collection I give the postcode and street name and say I'll only hand out the house number on the phone on the day (not foolproof) of collection.
This is after selling on gumtree where buyer never turned up and someone tried to break into my flat around the same time (may/ not be connected).
I've not had any problems doing this and would prefer that to my address given out at free will.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
