I also own a Leon and use Waze. I don't have any problems myself, except that I don't have an iPhone - it's a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. So my phone is connected by cable. I use Waze and it charges. When I use wireless charging, my phone also charges very well.
This one? Where they state they charge wirelessly "very well".

I did quote that one and added that the S22 Ultra charges wirelessly at 15w.
Compared to the 7.5w of the iPhone 13, that is twice as fast.

So what's wrong? They are charging wirelessly, they write as much.
But on a 5W charger installed in a car, they'll both charge at 5W.

Yes. The 5w charger being the limiting factor for both phones.

And on a 10w charger one will charge at 7.5w and one at 10w. (of these two phones, 25% faster)
And on a 15w charger one will still charge at 7.5w and one at 15w. (of these two phones, 50% faster)

The latest Vag group cars tend to be all running similar wireless charger units.
One with and one without and antenna passthrough, 5NA980611 (same P/N but with an A for antenna one).
That particular part appears to be a 10w charger.

I'm presuming the OP's Leon is a later car as they mention having USB-C ports in it.
I think these USB-C tend to only come on the current model, the model before was USB-A ports.
If it is, then I can't see any other P/N for an in car charger for this model other than the one above.

Don't think any car wireless charger is going to actively charge when running apps tbh - simply not enough power to compensate for the use.
depends  entirely on the wireless charger. I use an aftermarket  wireless charger  bracket  anda  cig  plug to  USB-C PD adaptor and it charges  even when streaming  audio and  navigating

Even a plugged in phone may not charge from a vehicle supply if you are using live data streaming 100% of the time you are driving.
again what charging is offered . a lot of older  USb ports in cars might  only be 1amp @5 v or  even 500 milliamps  @5 V ,
