Is using my FairFX card a decent option in Australia?

I have a pre-paid travel card with FairFX (Mastercard "debit" essentially I believe).
Does anyone have any guidance on whether this is a reasonable option for purchases out in Oz?
I will be getting some Australian dollars as cash just in case, but wanted to know whether people had found FairFX to be widely accepted.
The plan is to pre-load some money onto the card and then top up as and when needed.
I have not "exchanged" pre-loaded Sterling to a currency for a long time and things change, including how good a card is.
Many thanks

Prepaid cards usually aren't good value, see Top travel cards: the best credit and debit cards to use abroad1

The world of finance has moved on since the introduction of FairFX prepaid travel cards and for the better.
Look at Starling, Chase or Monzo for a debit card option (day to day spending) and a credit card from Halifax (Clarity) for hotels and car hire etc. All these operate in £ and offer just about the best exchange rates (at the time of use).
Another advantage is that you don't end up with a prepaid card loaded up with unspent funds at the end of your holiday.
Have a good time.2
