Update!! Hello everyone -
Hurray! The landowner (Age UK East Sussex) has begrudgingly agreed to agreed to cancel my "ticket" via TPS. Apparently they will have to pay the costs to TPS (seems like a tall story- though I have offered to make a donation to cover costs they have incurred- I have no problem with supporting the charity - just didn't want to pay off the cowboys. )
I have pointed out that their service users (at a centre for elderly people) could easily be caught out by the scammers and hit with a fine- and that as the parking doesn't say it's for the centre they would have no idea who to complain to. I only found out by trawling the internet and finding a lease agreement between the council and the centre.
It makes me SO cross. And also that the people running the centre and at Head office seem to be taken in by the parking company and unwilling not to see them as they are.
I think it's only because I made a few comments on their social media that they have capitulated.
Apparently TPS had issued the ticket to the wrong address - though I don't know how they managed that as I have only owned the vehicle since August and the V5C is correct.
My MP Helena Dollimore was supportive too- maybe useful for any other East Sussex dwellers.
Anyway I am HUGELY grateful to all the people who contribute to this forum. You are legends.
Have a lovely Christmas

Very good news, and MP on board too. Perfect fightback and AgeUK will think twice when it comes to renewing the contract now.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
