My daughter is supposed to be completing today ... it's been pushed to Friday, fingers crossed it all happens as the solicitor closes on 20ieth. Lucky they are moving themselves!£216 saved 24 October 20140

I understand the OP already exchanged and it is only completion that should happen today.1 -
Hello @Grumpy_chap, my daughter is in Belfast and I believe they have exchanged, it was supposed to be completion today. I'm a bit worried for them that it is now Friday. At least they had to give a month's notice on their rental so are OK until 31 December - and her boyfriend's parents are there to help if necessary.
I have offered to pay for a deep clean having been embarrassed myself at my cleaning being criticised when I left my rental!
Good luck @DD92, I wish you well for your completion and hope you enjoy your first Christmas in your new home.£216 saved 24 October 20140 -
Check the white goods work. I completed yesterday on an ex rental that's been empty for about 7 months and plugged in the fridge to find no compressor noise. So now I have to find a fridge.
Also I've found a pool of water on the kitchen worktop and in the hall, despite never seeing those on the final viewing check last week so need to figure out what's caused that 🤣Won so far in 2017: ipad mini :j0 -
Hopefully the OP plus youth_leader's daughter are now safely in their respective new homes
I didn't want to share the worst that could go wrong on completion day, save for striking fear into the movers, but this thread from a few years back is probably about as bad as it gets:

Merry Christmas everybody2 -
Thank you @Grumpy_chap - my daughter finally moved in at 5 pm ish. The young sellers were sadly separating and hadn't employed a moving firm. My daughter and her boyfriend and movers ended up helping them.
I thought I'd passed on lots of hints and tips but her cat went up the chimney, I hadn't anticipated that!£216 saved 24 October 20146
