Sky won’t cancel new order

We have just moved home ( 5 doors only). I work from home so asked Sky to move our broadband. We were out of contract so placed a new order. It wasn’t a good deal so I then cancelled and placed an order with Vodafone. Vodafone are saying that they cannot progress the order as Sky is not cancelled. Sky have confirmed to me over the phone twice that the order is cancelled. I can see numerous complaints about this online but have never seen a resolution. Can anyone help please?

Placing a cancellatiin would be the wrong thing to do. The new provider should have done a takeover order & managed it all0

You may want to check the customer satisfaction surveys and the Ofcom complaints per 100k users. It won't be Sky who are the bottom dwelling ISP. Buying on price is not always the best.
You will find as many reports of Vodafone saying what they have said and the other ISP has cancelled any order. So don't just believe its a Sky issue (could be, but maybe not).
Also, if you are taking a phone number then make doubly sure it has transferred straight away. You will find lots on that not working with Vodafone as well.0
