Hi,
I was watching BBC Morning Live and they had a scene regarding car hire.
A situation where you get it from the UK- then you get to your destination (in my case Sicily).
Get to the desk- they have your info. Then say you should take out this extra insurance. Can't remember what she said but along the lines of you need this if you damage the car. I said I got insurance when I got the car hire- she then said I dont know if that covers you- we recommend you should have this- but it is at your own risk. It was about £50 extra- which may not sound a lot- but the car hire itself was only £103.4.
So I guess you can say it's my fault for not knowing exactly what the insurance covered- but when you are rushed for time and they spring that on you- you can end up just paying. Also the Expedia confirmation of the email hire isnt that clear it just had the following:
So the people on the program was able to claim some money back for something that sounded similar.
My question is- do I have a case- and who should I approach? Expedia? The credit card I used to pay insurance? The hire company that was used by Expedia?
Is it even worth pursuing?

You can rewatch the episode on BBC i-Player if you think you missed important points.
I would take this as a learning. As they said you really should have been aware in advance of what insurance you had, what was covered within the rental. Be more aware next time.0
