Does the tracking not show the GPS location ?  All my parcels show a very clear map of where the item was delivered along with exact co-ordinates.
I can't see the GPS info as the seller has just sent me what looks like screenshots.
Are you talking from a buyer or seller perspective?
Should I ask the seller to look for GPS?
    Thanks
Both sent and received parcels.  You shouldn't rely on what the seller has sent you, have you checked the tracking yourself ? https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/ The RM tracking page should have 3 headings, Proof of delivery with the photo, Tracking history and Map of delivery location.  This shows a detailed map of the location along with the GPS co-ordinates.

    Thanks.
I can see the first 2 on the RM tracking page but not the map of delivery location.

This seems to be quite rife this year.  A few weeks ago I had an email from Evri saying they had delivered 2 parcels.  I didn’t get them. They hadn’t  emailed me with a delivery slot and hadn’t rang our very loud doorbell.  Just over a week later the parcels were delivered by Evri.

Heaven knows what was going on here.

Bound to get even more erratic delivery now Royal Mail has been sold on.

    Molerat.
    Curious.
I've looked at the tracking for a few of the parcels I've posted and the 'map of delivery location' is clearly shown.

I wonder why it's not showing on my parcel.
Could it be that RM have removed it as it's been reported as misdelivered...?

I wonder if it wasn't GPS tracked so nothing to show.

    I hadn't thought of that.
Is that common with Tracked 24?

I know some of our local buses don't appear on the live app as they don't have GPS or it's not switched on.

    Just an update on this...
The parcel has turned up a month after posting.

Nothing on the box to say 'please redeliver' etc.
I guess someone has just put it back in the post box. Whoever that was, thanks.

    The seller refunded me.
I'm very happy to have this item and want to pay for it but the seller says to just keep it.
Although it was a vintage silver item, I bought it very cheaply.

I've found a couple of identical items on eBay from US sellers (it's manufactured in the US) for about £40.00 plus postage.

I am surprised that you received the actual item, as I had heard of a scam that is very similar to this scenario.

From what I gathered, items were being sent (box full of junk so it weighs something ) and when printing off the postage, doctoring the address. What happens here is that the item is logged in the RM system as delivered, but the box of worthless junk actually ends up at some unsuspecting stranger. The scam works on the basis that the item is delivered to the address on the parcel (doctored address) even though when it is scanned it isnt at the actual address it should be at.

I didn't think it was a scam, just a mis-delivered item during the busy lead up to Christmas.
I did think that the wrong person had opened it and decided to keep it as it's a pretty 925 silver brooch.
But I'm happy to have my brooch.
