Just been to Lidl. All the veg is at 8p. How many of each item can we buy without it being wasted? Filled the trolley up. Hilarious seeing the total at the checkout going up. Half the trolley scanned and still under £10.

Finally got mine as well. Should buy a coffee in M&S with my sister, between us we can buy her friend of 64 years one. Mental well being it will be £20 well spent.

    Glad it turned up!

Made me smile. It reminded me of the occasion years ago when I was stuck in a long queue  in a branch of a building society,  The cause

of the hold up was a customer who was trying to withdraw money from what we gathered was a dormant account.

It seemed that every employee from the manager to the cleaner was being consulted regarding resolution of the problem. One wag

waiting in the foot shuffling (and long suffering) line made much the same suggestion......

  • £20 ? Doesn't even cover a week's gas for us - thanks Chancellor ! (said with irony)

£20 would hardly be enough to buy enough sprouts and cabbage for a couple to generate their own gas supply!
    Be grateful - it’s more than £0.
  • Just had a look at my bank account and it appears I received mine yesterday - the statement line appears to be my NI number followed by "Dwp Xb".  Now pondering what to spend it on.
