Could it be they disabled your online access because of the fairly large chunk having been sent to your Direct Saver and they are investigating it? Is it time to raise a formal complaint?

Have you tried the NS&I app? AFAIK, it doesn’t need any OTC and doesn’t support withdrawals but at least you can see your balances.1 -

@friolento I just installed the VPN so as I could install the NS&I app... it didn't help so I'm back to where I was before now - still not working.
And I've been receiving OTC's from NS&I for many years in this location using the same number without any problems... I'll call NS&I later tomorrow, hopefully they'll be able to confirm receipt of my funds - sadly I won't be able to ogle my account balance myself0 -
Good News:
The problem has been fixed. Today when I pushed the star key to hear the code, it worked fine and I can finally access my account again.
Whether it's working because my service provider changed their system or NS&I fixed their system (that appears to fail regularly) we can only guess.
And my inheritance is safe3 -
I've remember having extensive login problems with NS&I a year or so back, but I can't remember if it was exactly the same as this. They need to sort themselves out.3

I too had this problem a year ago and was locked out of my account but thinking they would have sorted it out by now I tried to access my account to renew for 3 years my index linked account and it failed again on the hash button going round in a loop. I vaguely remember there was a work around last year (either pressing the hash several times or holding it down for a few seconds) but I can't try that until I get my account unlocked! As I'm running out of time I've resorted to sending the renewal by post.0
