Can You Buy SGLN In A Shares ISA

I have a stocks and shares ISA with Interactive Investor, which I have had for many years, and I am interested in purchasing some SGLN iShares Physical Gold ETC GBP.

When I go into my account, search for and bring up SGLN, it takes me to another page where I can see  all of the performance and price of SGLN, but I have no portfolio or account on this page, although I am still logged in, and no options to buy into this fund. Can you not invest in this fund on your ISA?

Just because they're on my phone and it's easy to check, it looks like you can with Trading212, Freetrade and CMC Invest in Isas and Gias and I'm given the usual trading dialogue boxes. It's a pretty mainstream ETC so I'm surprised you cannot.

I've held it in the past at iWeb, I am pretty sure you can invest in it at ii. Try using the trading dialog rather than the research pages.

I've just checked this out on my own iI account.  Just click on 'Find and Invest', input SGLN and.... there they are, with the option to place an order (on the right hand side).  Currently £41.00.

Yes I can get there but there is no option to buy or place and order. The market is now closed, but it was the same earlier.

They wouldn't have it on their "Super 60" preferred funds if they didn't offer it for trading:

I have just tried it and I am getting an order button

Thanks for this. I looked at it a few weeks ago and I am sure the order button was there at that time. There is plenty of cash available in the account so not sure why the order button is missing. I have logged in and out a few times and get the same page as I have posted above, with no option to place an order.

Do you have any internet security software running, or any browser extensions that could be blocking certain scripts? Have you tried clearing your browser cache, using another browser, another device? Is it just this ETF or others as well?
Have you tried accessing via the ii Super 60 page as highlighted above?
  • Not sure what was wrong. Cleared history, cookies etc and tried a different browser, but it made no difference. Tried buying several of my current holdings and there was no order button on the first few, and then the button suddenly appeared on one of my holdings! I went back to SGLN and there it was! Obviously a glitch somewhere.
Many thanks for all the help.
