What are you going to do with £1K Harrods gift card

My employer has abandoned the tradition of sending employees a basket of Christmas hampers. Instead, I received a £1,000 gift card from Harrods. I’ve only been there once for afternoon tea. Any suggestions for the most MSE way to spend the money?
Cheers,

I’d have a scroll through Harrod’s website (and probably fill my basket ten times as I would keep changing my mind - or find something better)I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. I visited Harrods a few weeks back. Can't honestly say I'd ever buy anything there that I couldn't find significantly cheaper elsewhere. Same products, just without the markup.
I'd see if I could sell the card for upwards of £800 and then buy more elsewhere.2 -
I would wait until the January sale and then buy everything at half price.4

I'm curious to know how valuable the hampers used to be? I can't even imagine a £1,000 hamper!1

I’m told the fountain pen department sometimes has good discounts. If that’s your thing.
I like the idea of pretty much forcing you to treat yourself but I’m unlikely to want a single luxury item (watch, journal, jewellery) that cost that much so I’d probably struggle to choose something(s) every year.Fashion on the Ration

Baron - and no this isn't a wild stab in the dark - though I could potentially see a use for one - do enlighten me - why is buying something from Harrods worthwhile when I could buy it significantly cheaper elsewhere?1 -

If you are fancying Ralph Lauren towels, maybe a bad example as they're currently on sale in Harrods, then you'll probably find them cheaper elsewhere as Harrods normally sells everything at RRP whereas these types of brands are fairly often on sale. If you really want Pratesi towels you'll only find a few places that sell them and all of them sell it at the same price.
Most MSE way to spend it would to be to wait for the sales or something you want a high end version of which just is never discounted. Ignoring the guy on the beach selling genuine fakes things like Cartier or Tiffany etc etc are never on sale outside of sunglasses and perfumes.0 -

Or can you buy titles there these days? Is a Lord much more than a Baron?0 -
Assuming Harrods sells techy things, you could buy a new ipad/phone/laptop/TV etc
Prices of these things, if they are the most modern and well known brands version tend to be pretty fixed, so probably not marked up because its Harrods?1 -
We have shopped in Harrods most years during their sales where we've been able to pick up some great value bargains that we've used as birthday/christmas gifts.1
