Never click links from unsolicited emails. Of which this is one.
Isn’t that the advice we are always given? Here’s an unsolicited email found in junk folders with scope for problems if a scam. If it’s genuine Apple have they made a media announcement to reassure customers prior?
As per usual the Apple and other discussion board, including this one, answers both tell us it’s a scam and it’s genuine. Hardly reassuring. Including a ‘cyber security expert’ with a username like nobblydogscrote with a two word answer “it’s genuine” but no explanation of how they reached their ‘expert’ conclusion and also folks who contacted Apple and were told it’s a scam!
Are they both right?
If a scam it’s worryingly legit looking if it’s genuine then Apple aren’t to be trusted. Or they are to be trusted who knows?
